I can't believe I haven't checked here for over two years an missed the release.

So here's a belated thank you for something I've waited for since it was first announced - when was that? 2002?

bravo!  (and belated happy 5th birthday!)
i will definitely yoink this, it was at the top of my 'want-please-hurry-guys-pleeeeeez' list... way back when.
i will also not be upgrading to windows 7 any time soon, as i hear that our beloved BG is incompatible... grrrr.
and just quickly - apologies for the vanishment, WoW did indeed do me in - however, bioware has had the most recent laugh, as dragon age has ripped me from blizzard's grasp over the last couple of months...

I have to add my voice to any chorus begging you to publish a ToB conclusion to this mod. d'AR looks very promising from what I've seen of it, and a solid reason to take a character that is otherwise often dismissed as a less interesting clone of Imoen. You've given new life to the girl and I thank you for that. The lack of a ToB portion, however, always wrecks character mods for me. I find it really hard to enjoy mods knowing that their stories will die before they do, and that I will need to justify in my head why a character who has been a core of my party for so long suddenly falls silent or walks away.

A mod that follows through to the end of the story, however, is a treasure I hold most dear. Kelsey is an excellent example of this. As he's a character, he's pretty good, probably the best mod-original NPC I've played, but what changes him from a good mod to a great mod in my mind (and why Imoen very frequently has a sorcerous boyfriend) is because he remains a true part of the group just when Imoen and the Scion need their friends most. It doesn't even matter that there ToB side quests related to him, it's just that he's still part of the story. It's just one tiny, insignificant last little bit, but for me it's almost worth more than the rest of it combined.

I know Nalia is a bit of an exception, because she still carries her given story to the end and remains part of the team even if her relationship with the Scion falls cold and dead. Still, it would be wonderful to see this half of the character to find her way to the bitter end, because Nalia does feel like half a character without it. I haven't yet won the game with this mod active, but if her epilogue goes by without even a mention of her relationship to the Scion of Bhaal, it will feel an empty ending.

Sorry for the rambling post. I would just love to see how this story ends.

No, the content is really geared around the romance.

Is it any point in using this mod if CHARNAME can't romance Nalia? I'm mostly interested in getting a closure to the quest and find out who The Boss is?

Any word on the ToB release? I've been waiting to play the game thinking that it would have been poping up about now.

Yo. Great mod (I can never figure out why this was not available by default), but I do have a few things to mention, though some of these might have been mentioned somewhere else.
1. Music. It's a nice music that fits her, but guitar music doesn't really fit in with BG2's middle-age fantasy setting.
2. Nalia's speech seems to run a little long compared to the default characters. The writing is not bad, but it seemed unnatural at times.

DragonAge has had its release date pushed back.  Think of it as a sign.   ;D

Well I am just glad to read this mod will eventually get to ToB. Having wooed Nalia so far a bit I hope to continue doing so in ToB.  Though the sentence 'Is that all? I was expecting more.' right after certain conversations was a bit disturbing...

Thanks for hte great work, Al

No, no, I wouldn't kill off Nalia as part of the romance thread, that's not on the table and really wouldn't fit the "theme" of the romance, in any case.

Thanks for the kind words.

Well, I have no Russian ancestry, but I do have a lot of Polish and Lithuanian blood.

That may explain why the maxim doesn't quite hold true for me.

I thought up One-Day NPCs in the shower, you see.

Great stuff comes from Poland! (The Witcher)... and lots of great shower scenes. (I'll stop there)  ;)

Seriously, dude, I'm pretty sure this is my first post on this site, but I've been periodically checking to see if you've finished the de'Arnise romance (TOB).  I've noticed several other posters indicating they've been checking too; I think you have a underground fan base/following!  Baldur's Gate is my favorite game of all time and I have been waiting to re-play a Baldur's Tutu (with ultimately tragic fling with Dynaheir) followed by a lasting bond with *your* Nalia (I know your name from the many great mods you've done elsewhere)...but I want it to be complete, cause I'm an all or nothing kinda guy.

One request (I know this may be too much to ask - and maybe this is what is tearing at you?):  happy ending please?  ...please don't kill her.  This world has enough unhappy endings to let it invade our fantasy worlds too.  If you are truly torn, maybe you could do a 'gotcha' kind of ending, where we 'think' she's not going to make it, but it all works out (ala 'Stranger than Fiction')

Ok...I've said my peace.  Just want to give you major props, again, jcompton - you do damn good work!

Oh gosh. And you started "One-Day NPCs: Superior to a quickie?" thread, too!

...I guess I should shut up before it turns into a Romantic Encounter-y discussion. :)

Get better soon. You know, Russian writers have a secret(they never seem to want to share it, but I'll level with you): great ideas come in the shower. Always.

(Nalia would probably be scandalized that someone's thinking of her there, though.)
