Yes, copying your saves should work. Modders often receive saved games and run them on their installations, so it should be fine.

Hi!

Since my question is related to a reinstallation, I think I should ask in this thread instead of making a new one.

Well I'm thinking about buying a new computer and of course I'll install Icewind Dale on it. Since I've already started a new game with your wonderful mod installed, I was wondering if copying my save directory after reinstalling everything would work or not.

Thanks in advance.

Oh I forgot something: thanks for this mod. I always thought something was amiss in this game and now I know why ^_^

Okay thanks, I'll do as you say, and again, LOVE THE MOD! best thing to happen to IWD since ever.

It is possible, yes, but since you say that Auril's Bane leaves unwanted stuff around, your installation may remain faulty. So, it's best to do like I advised in the readme:

- on a clean install(before installing any mods), make a backup of your override directory, dialog.tlk and chitin.key(at least). When you want to alter your installation, just delete override and mod directories and Weidu.log, and restore your backup.

Then, and only then install mods - install IWD NPC last, because older mods often overwrite files.

And, yes, keep your old saves - they may still work.

I installed the Auril's Bane mod alongside the npc mod, and I just decided while im in, that I want to uninstall AB and just play the vanilla with the npc mod, is it possible to:

)copy my saves somewhere, reinstall the game plus npc mod with the old saves, would any of the banters and stuff be messed up?

I've tried just uninstalling auril's bane but it seems to be leaving some unwanted stuff around so I wonder if the above would work.
