I like this Mod very much but Cromwell doesn't want to upgrade the "Incarnadine Elven Chain" with the (Red Dragon Scales + Sylvan Chain + 3 Andar Gems + 3 Fire Agate Gems) items.
I restart twice the game and play the begìnning until the end and no upgrage possible.
Please recheck the string dialogue please. I think it's missing in the french translation. Thank you.

Tactics was never on my plate. :)

I can understand the time-pressures and real-life issues.

Perhaps it's time to take Tactics off your plate, pass it on to some other peeps who are willing, and able, to manage it. No, I'm not one of them!

I don't imagine much that could or should be done to it, but maybe some new talent can invigorate it.

The problem is that I've never been one to be half-assed about anything. If I was going to update Tactics I'd also go after the many compatibility issues and bugs reported since the last release when, frankly, my time is already hard-pressed to maintain my current slate of projects, much less one that I've never played.

Wes would likely hand over control to probably anyone who asked and is capable--that's what I did for IU and EoU, after all.

First, apologies for putting my post in the I.U. thread. Don't know why - I originally thought it was about Tactics! don't know if you're a mod but if so you can put these post in another thread.

CD, please don't be that way. This is really, really, small change to Tactics installation - doesn't even touch anything content-related. We just wanna give people some options when playing with BP. Please, put it.

Gah. I really, really, don't want to touch Tactics.

I did receive a Korean translation for Item Upgrade, though, so I think a v35 is probably around the corner. I'm not aware of any outstanding bugs at the moment, so it looks like it'll be a strictly maintenance release.

Hi CamDawg. Got a request for future versions of Tactics.

After some lively :cough!: debate over at SpellholdStudios, we would like to make it so that Tactics can be installed with Big Picture mod. It takes a simple change to the TP2, which I made - here, to avoid installing components already included in BP.

No need for TuMac in this case, an OS X version is available for download here.

Please answer me this, because I doubt I'll be the only person who asks:

Can I uninstall v 33 and install v 34 without starting a new game?

The Item Upgrade mod allows Cromwell and Cespenar to upgrade additional items in BGII. One third of them are convenience functions (e.g., they save you ring or boot space), one third of them try to beef up categories of weapons that are "weak by comparison" (e.g., clubs and spears), and one third of them upgrade NPC-specific items. The latest version, v34, addresses one issue: a bad index on the Staff of Elemental Mastery can cause crashes on OS X and some third-party mod installations (Windows or OS X) to not behave as expected.

Changelog for v34:

  • Fixed broken index for c2staf01.itm. On OS X, a bad index causes BG2 to crash to desktop. Additionally, the indexing error can cause some third-party mod installations (Windows or OS X) to not behave as expected.
