Prefix? I'm not sure what you mean. I'm talking about extensions, or suffixes.

setup-ashesofembers.tp2, where ".tp2" is the extension. Open that one with wordpad. It should be in your BG2 directory.

How exactly do i open it with wordpad. What i have is ashesofembers_v26 with a ppg prefix. When i right click it, it doesn't give me the option to open it with a different program.

Huh, interesting. Guess it means kuobolt2-3.itm is part of ToB.

What you can do is open up setup-ashesofembers.tp2 in a text editor like wordpad or, preferably, ConTEXT (which has line numbering), and go to line number 7905. You'll see--hopefully--a block of text like this:

COPY_EXISTING_REGEXP ~kuobolt[2-3]\.itm~ ~override~
COPY_EXISTING        ~kuobolt.itm~ ~override/kuobolt.itm~
  WRITE_LONG 0x1e 0x00000000 // Usability Restrictions
  WRITE_BYTE 0x29 00 // Usability Restrictions
  WRITE_BYTE 0x2B 00 // Usability Restrictions
  WRITE_BYTE 0x2D 00 // Usability Restrictions
  WRITE_BYTE 0x2F 00 // Usability Restrictions
  WRITE_BYTE 0x26 00 // STR requirement
  WRITE_BYTE 0x2C 00 // DEX requirement

What you need to do is just put /* before it, and */ after it. This is called "commenting out" the code in question, which will basically make WeiDU (setup-ashesofembers.exe) ignore the offending code.

If you don't find it at line 7905, that means I've edited my copy locally, and you can just do a search for "kuobolt2" or something. That should get you to the same place.

I take it you have SoA without ToB, right?

That would explain the first problem, but the second should work. Can you do me a favour and use Infinity Explorer or ShadowKeeper or NearInfinity (google them to download) to check if kuobolt2.itm and kuobolt3.itm exist in your game?

Im having trouble installing certain parts of the AOE mod. For starters ill say that ive tried everything (gotten rid of all the other mods, reinstalled the game then installed the mod) and nothing seems to work. here is the error as it appears in exe. The first one is with the cleric kits it reads:
[AshesofEmbers\P8ClericKits\Oron\J#Or01.baf] PARSE ERROR at line 13 column 61-61

Near Text: )
        [ReallyForceSpellRES] not found in ACTION.IDS

[AshesofEmbers\P8ClericKits\Oron\J#Or01.baf]  ERROR at line 13 column 61-61
Near Text: )

Near Text: )
        [ReallyForceSpellRES] not found in ACTION.IDS

The next problem i have is with installing the sensible weapon restrictions for SoA non modded weapons, the error reads like this:

ERROR locating resource for 'COPY'
Resource [kuobolt[2-3]\.itm] not found in KEY file:
Stopping installation because of error.

ERROR Installing [Sensible weapon restrictions for SoA (non-mod weapons)], rolli
ng back to previous state
Will uninstall 261 files for [SETUP-ASHESOFEMBERS.TP2] component 14.
Uninstalled    261 files for [SETUP-ASHESOFEMBERS.TP2] component 14.
ERROR: Failure("resource [kuobolt[2-3]\\.itm] not found for 'COPY'")

Has anybody had this problem, and if so do you know what i could do to fix it?
Thanks in advance
