are you planning on integrating it?
Never. The whole things is way too complex, and there aren't enough hints in the game to figure out what's really supposed to be going on.

By the way, do you guys have any plan about the Ajantis' quest ?
There was an outline for an Ajantis UB quest long time ago. What happened to it, and are you planning on integrating it?

The Shar-Teel bio obviously isn't the most coherent thing ever, since it alternately indicates that Angelo saved her mother, and that Angelo saved her. But I think a little spit and polish makes it a good story.

These were actually easier to find than I thought (my impulse to share tidbits of info shouldn't be discounted). I had forgotten Shar-Teel was originally conceived as a half-elf. Her profile on Bioware's website actually listed her as one at some point:

Shar Teel's elven mother was the only survivor of a small elven band slaughtered by a rogue company from the Flaming Fist. A young half elven officer named Angelo, who had decided to take his men on a romp to alleviate their boredom, led the company. Angelo decided to keep the child alive after having slaughtered the entire band. Her foster father raised her as a warrior; her early years were very difficult as many discriminated against her due to her bastard nature. When she was only fifteen, four of the soldiers ambushed her while she was out of town and then left her for dead on the shores of the mighty river Chionthar. She survived however and managed to make her way back to camp in the middle of the night. There she managed to kill one of her attackers before the camp was alerted. She was taken into custody and sentenced to hang at dawn for the murder of a fellow soldier; she made no attempt to explain herself. Before dawn came Angelo managed to help her escape from the city and flee for her life. She made her way
north to the city of Waterdeep where she hired herself out as a bounty hunter although not many took her seriously because of her age.

Hatred has become the single emotion that Shar Teel feels above all others. Her actions and words bespeak of someone who has little room for happiness or love. She especially despises the opposite sex, to the point where she finds it impossible to befriend any man. She has some qualities that would make her a valuable ally; for example, she shows no fear of dying and can be depended upon to never run from battle. When she does speak with her companions she is terse and humorless. With men she openly shows her contempt.

--------------------

Jaheira was born in the Tethyr region to one of the Nobles who were loyal to the King Alemander the 4th regime. Her first year was during the Tethyrian civil war that ripped the country apart and resulted in the deaths of most of the royalty and nobility. Her family was one of noble lineage that was targeted by the angry mobs of peasants. One of the servant girls took Jaheira from the castle before it fell. She fled into the forest of Tethyr and stumbled across an enclave of Druids. They took the child in to raise as their own and cared for the serving girl briefly before sending her away. Jaheira grew up a very headstrong girl; she was very militant in her beliefs that the only way to protect nature was to have an active role in the world. She became enamored with Khalid while helping to protect him from assassination by Shadow Thieves. They were wed and now travel the Coast as husband and wife.

----------------

Khalid is a half elf born and raised in the nation of Calimshan, the son of a wealthy merchant and his exotic elvish concubine. Khalid was barely acknowledged by his father as a son; his two half brothers received much more attention and were groomed as heirs to the business. Henceforth, Khalid threw himself into the martial pursuits and even convinced his father to pay a practicing sorcerer to accept him as a student. Unbeknownst to anyone Khalid's father was having troubles with his business and had in fact run up a considerable debt with a noble in Amn. The noble eventually decided to make an example of him and hired the Shadow Thieves to execute the entire family. His new love Jaheira made possible a narrow escape -- and soon after, they were married. Khalid is a very reserved individual. Having been the outcast of his family he has little in the way of social skills. He is not very quick with words and can be outmaneuvered easily in verbal debates, especially so by his wife. He is quite proud of the fact that he is of elvish blood.

It does, but sometimes if you can find old copies of current pages, you may be able to grab the link that way.

I'll see if I can find them. I know I posted the Shar-Teel one to PBG ages ago, so if the search function loves me today, I'll be able to find it.

The Archive requires exact URLs, doesn't it? Anyway, I'll see what I can dig up.

I'd certainly look at them.  IIRC, we messed around with Imoen's bio in BG2UB.  Maybe www.archive.org could snatch it?

Tangental, but it just occurred to me that at least Shar-Teel, Khalid, and Jaheira had different bios at one point. I read them on Cyberjag's BG site, which has unfortunately vanished into the cybergraveyard. I'm not sure if their info came from a demo version of the game or what.

K & J's went into their background in more detail, and Shar-Teel's actually explained why she hates men so much (I'm not sure what implications that might have had for the game's rating, hence the excision?).

If there were any way of obtaining the text, would you consider restoring them?

I believe the logic must go as follows:

1) Deheran sounds more like a man's name.
2) He only uses it if you charm him.
3) Kivan is a closet gay!

Unfinished gay romance plz.

I thought Domi was working on such a mod?

This is fairly close to the first thought I had after your original "Deheran" post. So clever.

On a normal BG:TotSC install, it says Deheriana in his biography, and Deheran in his dialogue if you Charm him.

It was always Deheriana in his bio too, since way before I ever heard of mods or Baldurdash.
