Then again, potions of knock might make it too easy to solo as a fighter. There is a wand of knock, but only wizards may use it. Potions of knock would not be inconsistent with 2E since the rules encourage people to create just about any kind of magical item they want.

One possible way to deal with locked doors & chests might be to introduce "knock potions" which non-mages/thieves could buy (for a suitably steep price!) and which give one use of the spell knock - I notice you've introduced quite a few other new potions into the game. However, I've no idea whether such a potion would be consistent with 2E rules.

It's one of the best mods I've played, in either BG1 or 2.

I ought to put this in the readme. :)

Thanks. Am enjoying things very much so far...have just battled my way through the gnoll stronghold, which was funĀ  :) It's one of the best mods I've played, in either BG1 or 2.

Will take up your advice on the potions, and I will let you know if I manage to get all the tomes!

Good luck with the soloing project, and let me know how things go. I was not aware how many of them were locked away so I did a search. Three of them are located in locked containers. It is true that many of these have been more difficult to pick, and thereby also more difficult to force, but none of them should be impossible. Since you are soloing with a fighter, carrying a couple of potions of giant strength to get into the difficult ones might be a good idea.

Hi - I'm attempting to solo through FoTD with a fighter. I don't want to know the new locations of the tomes/manuals (which would spoil the fun!) but need to know if they are stashed in any locked chests etc.

If they are, I'm assuming I won't be able to break into them (it appears to have been made more difficult to break open chests in FoTD) so I will need to take a mage (with knock) or thief with me - although this would be a bit of a shame as its not really going solo!

Thanks.
