I didn't watch much TV as a child. Don't watch much now, either.

Drat. Somehow I knew I would wind up being old, anyway.

I'm afraid it's that we're old, and Ghrey is getting old and happened to watch a lot of British scifi growing up. (and inexplicably does not see the majestic drama of Blake's 7.)

I am not a number, I am a gnome!

That's what I'm talking about! Yay!

I can't actually remember much about it, except for some really uncomfortable looking chairs and that big white bouncing ball, but really, that's basically what the whole series was about, right?  The bouncing ball?

The bouncing ball and the car, yeah. Oh, and Patrick McGoohan looking very put out.

P.S. I am relieved I am not unspeakably old yet. :)

The bouncing balls were the guards for the place, kept people from escaping by smothering them or knocking them out or something.  I have the whole series on DVD, but it's been a year or so since I've seen it.

You're not old!  I love The Prisoner!  My dad and I used to watch it on sunday mornings while having brunch.  I can't actually remember much about it, except for some really uncomfortable looking chairs and that big white bouncing ball, but really, that's basically what the whole series was about, right?  The bouncing ball?

'The Prisoner' was a series in the late 60s. British. You know that, right? Or am I THAT UNSPEAKABLY OLD??  :D

The title almost had me expecting some freakish crossover with Lotus 7s and Irenicus as Number Two.  I will not confirm whether I think that would have been a good thing.

I don't know what you mean. :)

It didn't even occur to me it could be Rielev intil people mentioned that. ;) One reason for that could be that 'dishevilled creature' at the start originally read 'gnome' but I wanted to make it less obvious.

And JC: Story, scene, whatever. :P I make kits, not write stuff.

That could be a nice intro for the Tiax NPC mod, a cutscene even . :D

I always thought it was terribly ufair that Tiax ended up in Spellhold. He is not even a mage.  ;) Good POV there, Andyr.

As I already mentioned to Andyr, it's not really a story, it's a scene, and there's a difference. (And for the record, I was guessing Rielev too, but that still doesn't make it a story. :) )

When I read the first line, I thought it was the bottle guy too, and I congratulated myself for being so clever.

Then I read the second line.

Also: I did not read this fanfic.

If you keep not reading fanfic to this degree, Ghreyfain, you just might wind up moderator.  ;)

I guessed who it was by the end of the second paragraph and was strangely happy. Maybe he *does* rule after all. I, of course, like to see NPCs getting attention in fanfic, especially one that doesn't get much attention in fanfic.

I thought it was the bottle guy from Chateau Irenicus. But Tiax works too. Rock on!
