Huh. I guess you managed to outrun Scrap. We try to make that hard to do but I guess if you're all Boots of Speed'ed up, it's not impossible.

Glad you liked the Yoshimo bit.

Tewes will apparantly have nothing to say to Keto, if you haven't talked to Scrap yet.
BTW, great story about Yoshimo.

The performances you see are tied to what you say to Keto before the performance, as well as on the depth of the relationship Keto forges with Yoshimo, if applicable. It is not random.

What order of events are you talking about?

Q: What performances can I see?

A: Here are the four permutations of the competition:

I.
Sir Joules (song)
Akai Twins (instrumental)
Keto's "Mirror" tale

II.
Liffetta (poetry)
Prudence (song)
Keto's history

III.
Penny Madrigal (song)
Lyrica (song)
Keto's Tale of <CHARNAME>

IV.
Ulga (song)
Talindra (song)
Keto's Yoshimo tale

And I have never heard of Tewes having "nothing to say." She should only accept the invitation from Keto, but she will have a little blow-off line for anybody else.

I may have tried it with main character, not sure right now though, will try again tonight or Saturday, leaving right from the docks, before doing Bodhi, that way I won't have anything 'else to do' first.

I'm fairly sure it depends on what you say to Keto beforehand.

I think this might be referring to the acts that go on for the contest.  I've done this twice now and both times saw Sir Joules, then the Akai twins, then her telling the mirror tale.

I believe 'she has nothing to say to you', but Ill try it right away this time.

Oh, is the order of events, as in the FAQ, random, or is that (pre)determined by some other variables?

Yes, I made a mistake in not counting certain areas as still being "in the neighborhood", that'll be fixed for V3.

But, yes, Mr. Dog, you need to go to the back of the bar and have Keto talk to Tewes.

There should be a NPC in the bar off to the left of where the bartender and the annoying kid stand.  Have Keto go talk to that NPC to start the competition.  (Edit: Left and a bit up.  This may not be revealed on your map if you haven't been over there.)

And yes, I thought Keto was just a little bit of a diva ;) over what was and was not allowed to be done before the competition.  I got the "be there in a little while" talk from a messenger upon entering Imnesvale, so I thought "hey, let's talk to the mayor as long as we're outside" and upon zoning into his cabin, bam, Keto throws a fit and disbands.  Reload...

Thats what I thought.
Got out of the UD last night went to the docks, to see Cromwell, went to the graveyard, kicked Bodhi's rear end, lost Aerie, picked her body up, trucked out to the ancient temple, made a stop at Umar Hills, ( it's a long trip, figured I'd rest on the way),talked to the innkeeper, he gave Keto an invitation, said be at Imnesvale in 2 days(48 hours), and I'm already there, so 12 hours to the temple, a few hours to walk to the temple into, back out and to the boarder of the map, 12 hours back to Umar hills, thats 30 hours tops. Still have 18 hours left, right?
Looked around, don't see anything 'happening', talked to everyone, got a few insults, (Stacy), some braggarts (Penny? and his harem) and a song, Prudance?. Should still have 12+ housr, so rest once, no one seems to know anything, no one wants to start anything, Mayor don'tknow anything, Guards don' t know anything, peasent don't know anything, so ask Keto, she says I'm wasting we need to goto Imnesvale for the competition , (i'm there!) and leaves. Ok , reload, the nearest is the autosave leaving the temple, 12-15 hrs after invitation, (33-36 hours to go)
ask Keto and she says the same thing, and leaves, tried hanging around Imnesvale for ~4 days once, still didn't see anything or hear of anything happening.
So the next nearest save is on the way to see Cromwell in the docks, have to try it from there again, maybe hit a bar in Athkatla, first then go to Umar Hills, then go Kick Bodhi.

Specifically, Imnesvale is the little village in the southeastern corner of the Umar Hills.

It's also known as "Umar Hills."
