That is sort of odd, yeah.  But Mac-compatibility is something I always say I should do and never get around to, so perhaps I'll look into how to properly make AoE work for Mac users.

Well, this is odd. I've come across this with a few exe files, but NEVER with rar files. The file extracted just fine in the VPC environ with WinRAR. Usually any RAR program I have works to decompress these. Well at least I got it to work. :D

I'm on a Mac. I use two different programs, both that have worked for everything else I've downloaded from here. The size of the file seems odd though, maybe I'm just not getting all of it for some reason. Is is supposed to be only 1.3MB in size? I'll open up VPC and try to get it through that using WinRAR.

It only concerns other modders who want to check to see if AoE's installed.  With newer versions of WeiDU, 0 byte files don't get copied, so the placeholder wasn't being copied.

That's right, the mishmash of tweaks and nerfs with the strange name have received yet another update.  This version contains the following features:

 - Documentation update
 - Placeholder file is now > 0 bytes
 - Sensible Weapons for Mods short bow bug fixed (BioWare did it! I swear!)
 - Wizard Slayer is capped at 72% Magic Resistance (Level 17)
 - Lowest level variants of Keldorn, Viconia, and Anomen now get
   appropriate weapons for their proficiencies
