In BG2, CLASWEAP is superceded by WEAPPROF.2DA.

Yes, Bioware included some of the new kits in CLASWEAP, but that was apparently before they finished overhauling the proficiency system and switched to WEAPPROF. A clue that CLASWEAP isn't used, aside from the proficiencies not being available during character creation, is that some of the new classes/kits (Monk, Barbarian and Wildmage) are listed in WEAPPROF but not CLASWEAP.

In BG1, weapon proficiencies are governed by this file and PROFSMAX.2DA. But in BGII does it actually do anything? As there's WEAPPROF.2DA.
