I suggest not doing that, since at the very least your saved games will probably be messed up
A freshly installed tutu wouldn’t recognize the old saved games? I mean before Alora joins?

Well, it would recognize them, but there's a high likelihood that all the text strings in the game would be out of order, rendering the game unplayable.

That's correct - the fix I offered was for the case when Alora was on low level - during conversion, by some reason or another dialogue was not assigned, so what had happened Alora would come up to the group, would want to talk, but cannot find her dialogue file; if you join her "forecfully" the script will still prompt her to talk, and she still cannot... hence stutter.

If you have V6 of BG1NPC, the assingment of the dialogue was already done and the stutter is caused by something else. Ie she joins in normally - Theodur's bug - I do not know what causes this stutter.

Domi

IF Alora comes up to you and joins your party normally it is not related to this stutter!

OK, so Theodurs experience had nothing to do with your fix? Because his bug sounded very similar to mine.

It happened to me as I was playing Tutu without the BG1 NPC mod - Alora stuttered all the time after I picked her up.

In that thread you also talk about reputation and what kit she belongs too etc does this matter?

Would I’ve avoided the bug if I had installed the NPC mod immediately?

I saw your Alora fix I suppose I could try it out.

Arawn! Do not edit the script in this way - it was a valid fix for the cases when Alora did not have her Dialogue file assigned. IF Alora comes up to you and joins your party normally it is not related to this stutter! If you really want to try it, I think I attached her re-compiled files there, later in the thread (post from July 1, called Alora's fix) which you can try to put in your override... BUT I am not sure it will help!

Thank you so much for your replies.

It’s strange I’ve rested changed her avatar killed her traveled far and wide with no change. Joining her from a previous save she only stumbles during daytime! ;D

That is a problem created by Tutu itself.

I checked that thread Domi and this was your conclusion:

The only way I was able to eliminate the stutter is by cutting out the first block from her override script

1) open _ALORA.CRE in NI (from Override folder)
2) open _Alora.BCS (referenced as her override script)
3) Exported _Alora.BCS to a safe location to keep it as a back up

4) Removed the following block from Alora's script:

IF
See([PC])
NumTimesTalkedTo(0)
THEN
RESPONSE#100
Dialogue(Player1)
END

5) Pressed Compile button
6) Pressed Save Button

Now, Alora will be just standing in her spawn point, without trying to initiate dialogue with the PC continously. You can Ctrl+Q her in the party and play her as normal.

What program do you open these files with? It sounds somewhat complex to me.

It happened to me as I was playing Tutu without the BG1 NPC mod.

If I Uninstall Tutu and install it and the NPc mod together would that make a difference?

Btw I’m confused to which subjects goes too this forums and which goes to the bug reports forum.

I suggest not doing that, since at the very least your saved games will probably be messed up, and if you're at the point where you have Alora in your party, you've gone pretty far in the game already.

To do all this editing, you can use NearInfinity, located... um...

Here: http://www.idi.ntnu.no/~joh/ni/index.html

Then scroll down to the override tab, find a file called _alora.bcs, and make the changes Domi suggests.  Simply delete the block of text indicated, hit the "compile" button, then save the file.

As for bug reports and general discussion being mushed together, I know what you mean, but don't sweat it.  They seem to go in either place, and I'm too lazy to do anything about it.  So are the other Tutu moderators, it seems. :)

It is actually a known issue in original BG1TUTU. She will stop stumbling after a while; try to sleep her.

I have just entered Hall of Wonders and I had no problems with joining Alora, but she stutters. I will need more time to figure out what is wrong.

I can't remember how, but either I fixed it or it just... wore off with time - because I finished the game with Alora in the party. In any case, I believe that this should be directed to Tutu boards - I remember reading there about this problem, so perhaps search will turn up something.

Grargh, the internet ate my previous post.  Ah well, at least it was short.

1) Did Alora give all the speeches she was supposed to give before joining the party?  I think there's one where she suggests you rob the temple, then one for her joining.

2) Do you have the BG1 NPC banter mod installed?  If so, this could be the culprit, but I'm not too sure.

Hi
I'm not sure if this has anything to do with Tutu but the spunky little hafling with 20 dex stumbles!
She will walk a few yard and stop then walk a few yards again and stop. No other NPC:s have this problem.
Also the journal seems to have stopped updating when I arrived in the big city.
Otherwise I'm impressed how glitchfree this transition has been. BG is really replayble.
