Do you guys think we should reimplement the cheese detecting device? I like it, but powergamers are sure to complain (even if they don't have to install that component)...

But there really isn't any roleplaying reason to hang on to the Golden Pantaloons.  The whole thing reeks of 4th wall breakage.  Its an easter egg, and as such should be hard to see without some good luck, and complete lack of linkage from in game events.  Thats why developers put these things in.  Its a little inside joke that only those in the know, are aware of.  I'd consider it generous that they even give the ciphers at all.  Most of the time, these things don't even have any clues as to their existence.
I agree 100%. There is, in fact, no way to roleplay making the BMU--you can either learn about it from Kerrick and metagame to replay the entire series again and collect the Pantaloons, or you can use Shadowkeeper to read the 2nd note and get the inkling that the Pantaloons are important. Given that, as I stated above, each player has only 5 chances at a 1-in-1000 shot, it's safe to assume that the 2nd note will never be acquired legitimately--because if it is, it looks so similar to the first one that the player won't even notice the difference, let alone try to decode it.

And what's the point of an easter egg that can only be found by dicking around with editing programs and stuff?  :P
Precisely. The fact that the BMU can only be learned about through editors and/or metagaming ranks it right up there with the goddamn Vampiric Sword from BG1.

Suggested Changes: Switch the filename of the 2nd note with that of a Note sometimes found as random loot in BG1, the one that says "Why does a chair have arms and legs, but cannot walk or hold things." The BMU remains an Easter Egg, and a rare Easter Egg at that, but its method of acquistion is redeemed. The 2nd note becomes more noticeable, and therefore more likely to be decoded if it is found. The "chair" note is still perfectly in character for Wanev.

I would like to see the original AR3023.are file restored.  The one where your PC crawls over the smiling faces of a bunch of giants from another plane of existence.  As it is, the chances of seeing this UB is 0 out of ten bajillion, because it's an easter egg.  And what's the point of an easter egg that can only be found by dicking around with editing programs and stuff?  :P

Hmmmm.....a 1 in 1000 chance to get an enciphered note, a 1 in 3 chance that your party will reach Spellhold before being abandoned in favor of a more interesting PC, and the fact that players only need to talk to Wanev about 5 times before they learn that he always gives the same note.

And so it's, what, at least a million times more likely that a person would get the second note by finding it in Shadowkeeper, and hacking it in? Or finding out about it (without even needing to decode it) through a walkthrough or random spoiler? Yeah, some Easter Egg system.

I'd favor something more like a 1 in 5 chance to get the 2nd note, but make the encryption more difficult than the pathetic Caesar cipher that's currently used. Give players at least the opportunity to have a roleplaying reason to hang on to the Pantaloons. It's too late for the Golden Pantaloons, of course (unless we snuck something like this into BG1), but it's better than the system we have now.

What is it supposed to say when deciphered?

Wanev's second note is in the game, but only appears once out of 1000.
I'd argue that as being far too low. In my last 5 games, I have taken a full party of 6 to Spellhold, and talked to Wanev until every single Inventory slot has a note in it. Not once in all that time--in fact, ever--have I recieved the 2nd note.

Yes, well, it's an easter egg.  If UB starts "restoring" easter eggs, I am going to delete everything on the PPG ftp and go live in a cave as a hermit forever.

Trouble in Trademeet is just the generic entry title for all of that quest.
True, but the Journal entry does state that the attacker was female. Barring a typo, that means one of the named Druids used to be female.

Dace's dialog is all in his dialog file.
It might be there, but he never says it. I was just there, his Apparition has nothing to say.

Ribald does have a secret stash when you get back from the Underdark.
Of course he does, but that's not the line he uses.

All the Victims of Imprisonment lines are in, IIRC.
I just wanted to include especially noteworthy stuff that I wasn't sure was implemented....or that I feel deserved special attention, like Mrs. Harrold's nocturnal antics.

Ust Natha slaves are in the game.
Elhan dialog about Viconia is in.
Wanev's second note is in the game, but only appears once out of 1000.
Trouble in Trademeet is just the generic entry title for all of that quest.
Again, Aphril is coded to say that line once out of 1000.
Dace's dialog is all in his dialog file.
I think the voluntary Slayer change is not the one in Spellhold, it just displayed this message each time after that. It probably drained wisdom instead of reputation,like you said (good one on finding that line abou the Master Brain btw, I had never seen that)
The Drow merchant line sounds more like a rep too high message. And people were wondering why a drow merchant cared about you having a low rep... Guess it was just a bug after all.
Ribald does have a secret stash when you get back from the Underdark.
I know about the Tracking Irenicus entry, but I searched many times, and there aren,t any more of the same title, nor any code that should remove it from your journal anywhere in the game files.
All the Victims of Imprisonment lines are in, IIRC.

Awesome, thanks, Six.  :)

I'll try to weed through these this weekend and see what can be easily restored.  :)

What, you thought that was it?  ;)

SOLO, WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT
@55204 = ~It would seem you are alone; those fighting Irenicus with you did not follow your descent. You felt their pain, but they remained in the land of the living.~
@55206 = ~Had they been closer to death they might have succumbed to the energies unleashed, but they were not. Now you are alone, unsure as to why you are here at all.~

THE WORLD'S ONLY SINGING, FORNICATING BEHOLDER
@55295 = ~Do-de-dum-de-doo-de-dum-dum...~
@55311 = ~What to do now?  Hmmn.  The Underdark is near here, isn't it?  That means a female beholder can't be far.  And *that* means... well, never you mind.~

ITONA WAS ONCE A DRUID?
@55505 = ~Animal Trouble in Trademeet: A violent encounter.

I have been attacked by a druid proclaiming that I should die in 'Faldorn's name.' She is apparently a Shadow Druid.~
Notes: A Hostile Druid in the Trademeet map would give some more justification as to why the citizens would be so angry at Druids. Then again, perhaps Pauden or Dalok used to be female. Or maybe the apparent She/He mismatch is a simple typo.

I DON'T REMEMBER THIS OPTION
@55633 = ~Mage Stronghold: Apprentice crap.

Apparently those apprentices that were dumped on me were supposed to take instruction and make what I directed. I have no time to care, so I just cut them loose. Let's see what they can do on their own. Might be a bit dangerous, bu they have to learn sometime, right?~

I WAS WONDERING IF LORD FORESHADOW HAD A FAMILY
@55735 = ~I see... a place... coming soon... where there is... never winter... where people have control... over their own stories. Yes, it's a shameless plug from Aphril Foreshadow.~

MALLA?
@55927 = ~M... Malla Drow? Your... accent is most unusual. Hmm...~
@55930 = ~You meant nothing, *Malla Drow*. Assume the proper posture for one of your position or we are in danger of losing respect for our guise.~
@56023 = ~No offense, but trouble may find you, Malla Drow.~
Notes: I think this is with the Duergar in the Underdark, but perhaps only if Viconia is in the party?

HISTORY OF THE LANTHORN
@56595 = ~The nature of such things is necessarily vague. Their origins are lost to time, and we only know that they must be treasured.~
@56596 = ~Legends of the Lanthon maintain that it was perhaps once a mere carriage light, but that our ancestors did light the way to new lands with it at the fore of their processions.~
@56597 = ~It was enchanted such that it dispelled the darkness, forcing the fell creatures of the void to relinquish their hold on nature. At least, those are the stories of old.~

CONVERSATION WITH DACE SONTAN
@56631 = ~Your work is but half done, <CHARNAME>. Please help me! Kill me...~
@56632 = ~Aaagh... Hurry! You cannot understand the horror of it! My soul... Helm protect me... it BURNS!!!~
@56636 = ~Please <CHARNAME>! ~
@56638 = ~What is happening to you? I have just killed you!~
@56639 = ~You shall get no help from me. Suffer for all I care, vampire.~
@56640 = ~No, not death but torture, half death. The bitch Bodhi has cursed me with vampirism. I am... I am a monster. Only my soul is my own but the horror is too much!~
@56643 = ~I cannot control my desires... blood... I think I've gone mad. My body speaks but it is not I who decides the words. The body that lies in that coffin is not me. It is my prison.~
@56663 = ~What can I do to help you?~
@56664 = ~I care not. I will offer no assistance to a vampire.~
@56665 = ~YOU MUST KILL ME! Kill the body in the coffin! I am but a victim of Bodhi's schemes. Please finish the job! Free me!~
@56666 = ~How can I free you?~
@56667 = ~I will not.~
@56668 = ~Then this place is as much your tomb as it is mine. I my body, that... that thing does not die, you shall never escape. Only blood shall open the way. Thus has Bodhi ordained it.~
@56669 = ~Curse you! ~
@56670 = ~Get a stake, a wooden stake to end the curse.  The shaman of the kobolds has one! He fears me. My... desires have forced me to feed upon his tribe.~
@56671 = ~There is a secret room near the Tome of Madness. Within, the shaman's worship the shard, now grown. Use the stake to kill my body and get the blood.~
@56672 = ~The blood is half of the key! The crystal is the other! You shall know both when you find them. Find them not and you will die here.~
@56673 = ~Go then and find the stake! Hurry, please! The beast within eats at my soul!~
Notes: I know the first couple of lines are still implemented, I include them here for completion's sake.

SO IT *WAS* SUPPOSED TO BE SIMYAZ
@56653 = ~Sahuagin?  I did not anticipate this.  Back to the ship!~ [SIMYAZ14]

THE SPELLHOLD SLAYER CHANGE WAS ONCE VOLUNTARY?
@56674 = ~It searches your mortality for a piece not so tightly secured, and you realize that you can give it what it wants. It offers power for a price. Do you accept?~

THE DRAWBACKS OF HAVING A LOW CHARISMA?
@56790 = ~No, I'll sell you nothing.  For all I know, you could be a devotee of that harlot, Elistraee, and I'll not be punished by the Handmaidens by selling you anything.  Away with yo!~

MORE DEIREX DIALOGUE
@57038 = ~Bah!  I am to be disturbed by fleshlings, am I?!  Pfeh... I shall place you somewhere where you can rot until the Handmaidens can deal with you!! ~
@57061 = ~Bah!  More fleshlings to disturb me?!  What is... ah... you have the twisted cord in your possession, eh?  Well it shall do you no good, fool!~
@57146 = ~What?!  You return?!  Impossible!!~
@57147 = ~Since you cannot be imprisoned properly, it seems I shall have to deal with you fleshlings once and for all.  So be it!~

JARLAXLE USED TO BE TOUGHER
@57184 = ~You do remember that my men are not imprisoned... we are able to protect ourselves from the likes of you.  Do you truly wish to pursue this foolishness?~

UST NATHA BAZAAR.....OR RIBALD?
@57311 = ~All right then.  You're a good customer, and a successful adventurer.  Would you rather see my secret stock of items?  For only 50 gold I'll show you the wares.~
Notes: It appears in the middle of a bunch of Ust Natha lines, and right before a few Ribald lines, so I have to wonder.

ABANDONED NARRATION
@57351 = ~For better or worse, the Pirate Lord has declared you worthy of confinement in Spellhold.  The fact that you requested to go probably played a factor in his decision, and as you near the institution in shackles, you understand why.  The cliff-bound complex appears deathly cold, not at all like a place of healing.  The cells within prove no less desolate; what else but madness would bring you here?~ [NARR06]

I'M NOT SURE ALL OF THESE ARE STILL IN-GAME
@57436 = ~Greetings to you, <MALEFEMALE>, you like the look of my ship?  A fine astral vessel.  Been working the flows since I hijacked this rig in Krynnspace twenty years ago.~
@57437 = ~Just came back from raiding a gnomish sloop, myself.  Fair booty, although the ship took more damage than expected.  Ah, after some repairs she'll be fine.~
@57438 = ~You the adventuring sort, <MALEFEMALE>?  If you're still in Ust Natha in a month or so, maybe you'll join up?  Because of those infernal gnomes I could use the extra crew.~
@57439 = ~Think about it, anyway.  Next trip is out to Colia, and it's quite a sight.~
@57440 = ~I do a lot of my sailing underground; it is a surprisingly advantageous to fly at an eye tyrant silently from above.  A glorious battle to honor Lolth, that is.~
@57441 = ~Have you ever seen Toril from the skies?  Many Drow don't agree, but the view is superb.  It took years to adjust... Now the Underdark feels alien at times.~
@57442 = ~Had a run-in with the Imperial Elven Fleet once.  Blasted Man-of-War chased me for a week through the Grey Flow before we lost it, Lolth be praised.~
@57443 = ~Hah!  Met a Shou Dragonship last year.  Fools had never seen Drow; thought we were surface elves!  Taught them a lesson... not that they lived to benefit, of course.~
@57444 = ~Three quick runs to Anadia and I swear you'll have halfling slaves to feed driders for a century. The Spider Queen visited me herself once... I kid you not.~
@57445 = ~Excuse me if I seem edgy; the Handmaidens are suspicious because I'm used to the surface.  The Underdark isn't my home as much as Realmspace is, you see.~
@57446 = ~Time to get back to work on the ship.  Materials are rare and fuel even more so.  The life of a Spelljammer is never easy... hah... especially for a Drow.~
Notes: I just (as of 1/20) had a nice long chat with the Drow Spelljammer, and saw all the lines except 57442, 57443, and 57446. Speaking of Ust Natha Spelljammer ships, doesn't anyone else think it's odd that you can walk right up to the visiting Githankyi and kill them for no reason, and nobody even gives a crap? Imrae / Phaere / Solaufein will even jump in on your side, if they're there.

I HATE THIS JOURNAL ENTRY
@57515 = ~Tracking Irenicus.

Bodhi and Irenicus did pass through the Underdark. They may have been dealing with the Drow to secure passage.~
Notes: It appears in your "Quests" section when you first speak to the Duergar (no matter what form you're in), and nothing you do can ever kick it over into the "Done Quests."

ANY CONNECTION BETWEEN GONT & THE MERCENARIES OF RIATAVIN?
@57555 = ~Victims of Imprisonment.

Another person freed from the crystal I found, but this time his mind was sound and he did not wish to fight. He said that he was with another adventuring group, and that he must have been imprisoned battling a group of Drow. He did not know where they went, and he has now set off to find his lost comrades. He offered a little knowledge of the area, saying that a group of Kuo-Toans were guarding a bridge to the east, and that there was a Drow city to the north.~

HOW DELICIOUSLY EVIL
@57579 = ~Victims of Imprisonment -- Svirfneblin Son.

I went to Therndle Daglefodd and told him that I had found the corpse of his son. He seemed to think I had something to do with the young man's death. Imagine that. All the svirfneblin joined in his attack. ~
@57580 = ~Victims of Imprisonment - Svirfneblin son.

I broke the news to Therndle Daglefodd about his son. I told him that I found his body in the tunnels, though I conveniently left out the part where I killed him. Tragic, just tragic. Therndle was glad to know the fate of his boy. It's so sad, it just chokes me up. ~

SILVER-SWORD SPEECHES WITH SAEMON
@57881 = ~Very good. Her home is to the south west. I shall see you at the ship. Remember, all must happen after dark, but quickly. The Pirate Lord is not the only threat that haunts us.~
@57882 = ~You seem agitated. Is there something that you are not telling me?~
@57883 = ~Coward. Fearful that you might have to use that sword you've gone on about?~
@57884 = ~You have not stopped looking over your shoulder since we left Spellhold.~
@57885 = ~I have left out nothing, save the tales of my formative years or other such babble. No, I have not left you in the dark at all.~
@57886 = ~Not at all, although the blade is a reminder of what Irenicus intended... for you and me both. ~
@57887 = ~Perhaps not, but it is better to be alert to threats  from absurd places than caught unawares. ~
@57888 = ~I admit to being somewhat uneasy. Perhaps it is this blade. Yes, that's it. The weapon that Irenicus gave me, it reminds too much of what has occured. ~
@57889 = ~Yes, that is it. I am beset by grief because of the treachery this blade represents. It is powerful, I am sure, but perhaps I would be better if I shed it.~
@57890 = ~What I mean to say, is that the Pirate Lord will not arrive in time to stop us. That is who I meant, in no uncertain terms. Hurry, we must away!~
@57891 = ~As much as I do not want to give it up, I have possessed this blade too long. It is yours, to cement our friendship. Payment for a battle well-fought, and for many more to come!~

DOCKS BARRACKS STUFF

@58458 = ~If you're looking for help, you won't find it here.  We don't do much in this here barracks except clean... and practice our swords a little.~
@58459 = ~Who let you in here?  These barracks aren't for people like you to just wander in and around, you know!~
@58460 = ~Get out of here!  I've heard enough of you, and you're lucky I don't place you under arrest!  Out!~
@58461 = ~The barracks is no place for someone like you.  Out you go!~
@58462 = ~So, heh... I seen this old halfling lady, right?  An' she's struggling with this cutpurse, trying to take back her bag, right?  An' so she calls out to me for help!  (snicker)~
@58463 = ~Yeah?  An' then what?~
@58464 = ~So I yawns, right?  An' then I says to her: "Hey, lady, this is the *docks*, an' I'm not about to..."  Hey.  Hey you!  Who let you in here?~
@58465 = ~Yeah!  Get outta here, before we arrest you!  This is the barracks, not some tourist stop!~
@58466 = ~So I was down by the docks the other day, right?  Watching one of 'em big barges from Calimport unload?  An' you know what I sees?~
@58467 = ~What?  What'd you see?~
@58468 = ~I sees 'em taking people off their ship -slaves, of course- so I tells 'em they needs a 'license', right? An' of course they...hey! Hey! Are you still here?!~
@58469 = ~We told you to get lost!  Beat it, <MANWOMAN>!~
@58470 = ~So I meets up with Isaea Roenall the other day, right?  An' you know what he tells me?~
@58471 = ~That noble shank?  You talked to him?~
@58472 = ~Yeah, I did. Turns out he's not so bad. Even told me about a juicy little... hey! Are you *still* here? If I have to tell you one more time to get lost...!~
@58473 = ~You'll pay for it then, you little dirt monkey!  Get lost or suffer the consequences!~
@58474 = ~So you knows I went down to the government building the other day, right?  You knows who I literally bumps into?~
@58475 = ~Who?  Not Brega!~
@58476 = ~Naw, I avoids him like the plague. No, I bumps into this Cowled Wizard, of all things, an he tells me he's got this deal...hey! Are you still here?!~
@58477 = ~You've been warned, <GIRLBOY>!  Now you're in for it!~
@58478 = ~Naaw, let 'em go.  Look at 'em... gussied up in armor an' such.  They're not worth the trouble.  'Sides... they got more important places to be, I'm sure.~
@58479 = ~But...!~
@58480 = ~It's not worth it.  We gots a sweet deal here, why make trouble?  Come on... we can go down to the port for a 'patrol', eh?  Heh heh...~
@58481 = ~Get lost, <GIRLBOY>.  You're not welcome here in the barracks.  Likely to get bloody arrested, you are.~
@58482 = ~On your way.  This is no place for you.~
Notes: The Expanded Thief Stronghold overrides this area, so I can't talk to the guards and see how many of these lines are still in-game.

THE AMAZING DISAPPEARING, REAPPEARING WIFE
@58500 = ~Please leave me be.  It is not bad enough that we are strangers to this town, now my wife is gone as well.~
Notes: The Curious Mrs. Harrold: By day, she's by his side, and he's a happy tourist. Come sundown, however, she disappears completely, a wandering child of the night, only to show herself again when the dawn next peeks over the horizon.

And less than 7 months later, the job is done! Whoosh! Zip! Amazing!

I'M UNABLE TO PLACE THIS
@52376 = ~There is something here.. just let me - Hold! It moves!~
Notes: This is the very first line of my block--it's followed by some dialogue from the Drow guarding the exit from the Kou-Toa Tunnels, but I've tested and it is not used by them. I have inklings of memory telling me it's from either the beginning of the Planar Prison quest, or when attacking Bodhi's Lair in Chapter 6, with allies present.

IRENICUS & SHADOW THIEF ALLIANCE
@52389 = ~Enough! Kill this creature and raze the guild. Irenicus shall learn of what it is to betray the Shadow Thieves!~
Notes: Emphasis on the word 'betrayed,' indicating that Irenicus and the SThieves had been working together. Which would help explain how Irenicus was able to build a huge lair of wizardry under the very noses of the Cowls without their knowledge, and how the SThieves knew Irenicus's name and background.

UST NATHA KITCHEN
@52505 = ~Excuse me, please, honored female... I did not mean to get underfoot.  Please do not send me to be tortured, I shall attempt to do better.~
@52506 = ~Aaah!  Is there... is there something wrong with the food, honored female?  We are... we are cooking exactly according to the requests, please believe me!~
@52507 = ~I am trying to cook the evening meals as quickly as possible, honored female.  Please do not allow me to disturb you as I work.~
@52508 = ~Get out of my way, blast you!  I am attempting to do work, here, can you not see that?~
@52509 = ~If you do not stop bothering me, you will become part of the evening's main course!  I'll not suffer lashes from the tentacle rod because of you!~
@52510 = ~Begone!  Get out of my kitchen!  I'll have none of your interference here, male!~

BEFORE "THE POWER OF LOLTH HERSELF KEEPS THIS DOOR CLOSED"
@52847 = ~You there! You have entered the halls of Lolth unbidden! There is but one fate for such a crime! Lolth be praised!~
@52848 = ~The sanctuary of Lolth is only open to those she wishes! Light will take all others! Light will take you!~

UNDETERMINED UNDERDARK CAPTIVITY
@52884 = ~S-surfacers?  Here?!  Thank the gods!  P-please... please... free me!  Remove my chains and let me escape, I beg of you!!~
@52885 = ~Th-thank you!  Thank you!  There... there are others here I must free!  I've got to help them!  There must be a way out!!~
@52886 = ~Y-you... you will not help me?  Damn your soul!  Damn your soul to the Abyss!!~
@52887 = ~Very well... your chains do not look strong.  This will only take a second.~
Notes: Slaves in Ust Natha? Captives in the Illithid Tunnels? Who knows?

CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE
@52731 = ~I would rather have a different opponent.~
@52732 = ~Again I would prefer a different opponent~
@52733 = ~I would still prefer a different opponent.~
Notes: There are no clues to indicate whether this came from Sondal's pit or from Szordrin's.

CUT FROM THE SIMYAZ ENCOUNTER?
@52938 = ~Your opinion is of little consequence. If you were not competent, you would be beneath our notice and you would be dead. You have proven worthy to live.~
@52939 = ~You may take that as grudging respect if you like, or you may take it as treachery. I care not. I am done with you.~
@52940 = ~Then display your fury with abandon! You defeated the hated illithid, so you are worthy to battle us!~
@52962 = ~Then I leave you in peace. You obviously had no part in the original taking. I thank you for our lives, because success means we may return home in victory.~
@52963 = ~Still, a debt must be paid. That you returned it is admirable, but you are unsavory in all other aspects. I regret what must be done, but there must be atonement!~
@52965 = ~Perhaps he did, and perhaps not. Regardless, this is not a matter were we can take chances. Failure to retrieve the sword means death. ~
@52973 = ~In a matter where death is the alternative should we return without the sword? No, it is not sufficient. I regret what must be done to determine the truth.~
@52974 = ~Our dealings are done. Leave us in peace and you will receive the same.~ [SIMYAZ13]
Notes: Some of these lines might be in-game, but I'm too sick of playtesting this stuff to slog through Improved Illithids. I'll just post the damn thing and make any needed corrections later.

CURIOUS....
@53029 = ~No... no I do not believe you. I can take no chances until I hear from... I waste time here! Take <PRO_HIMHER>!~
Notes: Found in the section regarding asking the Radiant Heart for help against Bodhi.

CUT DROW SOUNDS
@53283 = ~ The destiny of the Drow is to conquer all.~ [DRFEM103]
@53284 = ~ Do not cast your shadow upon me!  I've much to accomplish, and none of it involves you.~ [DRFEM104]
@53285 = ~~ [DRFEM106]
@53286 = ~~ [DRFEM105]
@53292 = ~ Darkness take you!  Enemies!!~ [DRFEM107]
@53347 = ~~ [DRMEN105]
@53348 = ~~ [DRMEN106]
@53367 = ~ Watch all about, warily, and the Goddess may give you the gift of continued life!~ [DRPRIS02]
@53376 = ~ If the Queen of the Demonweb Pits calls for your heart, you shall surrender it gladly!~ [DRPRIS03]
@53382 = ~ None shall escape the wrath of the Dark Mother!~ [DRPRIS07]
Notes: DRPRIS02 and DRPRIS03 do exist in-game, but they're so rare (the only person I can find who says them is the female Drow upstairs in the Tavern) that I'm including them anyway.

STILL IMPLEMENTED AT ALL?
@53012 = ~You may not use two rings of wizardry at the same time.~
@55846 = ~You may have only one simulacrum at a time.  You must wait until the duration of the first spell is over.~
@53013 = ~The Mind Flayers turn their mind powers against you...you have no hope of survival.~
@53462 = ~The mind-flayer opens the door.~
Notes: 53013 was probably replaced by the "images of fighting pits and slavery" line.

UST NATHA UNUSED
@52898 = ~I work for one of the merchant houses here in Ust Natha.  Lolth does not favor us as much as the nobles, but we are just as necessary for the drow's prosperity.~
@52899 = ~My daughter is about to come of age, but there are no passages to the surface for the Blooding.  We intend to buy a surfacer from the merchants and allow her to hunt it in the caverns, I think.~
@52900 = ~I have much work to do before the caverns are darked for the eve, <MALEFEMALE>... leave me be.~
@52901 = ~My mate recently discovered a valuable vein of adamantite, which has brought much wealth to our merchant house.  We are very pleased.~
@52902 = ~I was part of a delegation last year to trade with the Kuo-Toans.  Such disgusting creatures.  Were it not for their industriousness, I would gladly call on Lolth to kill them all.~
@52903 = ~Begone, <MALEFEMALE>.  I am sure there are many more things for you to concern yourself with other than myself.~
@52909 = ~Do not dare to address me, male!  Look down upon the ground when I pass and praise the Dark Mother of all Drow that you even possess your grovelling life!~
@52910 = ~Praise be to Lolth, the Queen of Spiders!~
@52911 = ~Have you attended your duties within the temple as of late, child?  If not, there shall certainly be lashes at the end of a tentacle rod awaiting you!~
@52912 = ~I do not recognize you, female.  You shall be looked at closely, and if you be a faithful follower of the Spider Queen, you shall do as the priestesses command, soon enough.~

CURIOUS SLAYER STUFF
@53778 = ~The odd device overwhelms you, causing you to become the slayer once more...and forcing upon you an urge, a desire...the elder brain is calling you...~
@54933 = ~The Slayer drains the strength of the party~
@54934 = ~Slayer Fear~
@55349 = ~The Slayer has surrendered control, but you are weaker in will, and closer to losing yourself. You may not be able to withstand the transformation again.~
Notes: 55349 seems to imply a permanent cumulative stat drain (probably WIS) as the drawback for becoming the Slayer.

VICONIA-RELATED ELHAN DIALOGUE?
@53070 = ~You should not be in this area!  Are you a collaborator? Have you betrayed the surface world to the devils below?~
@53079 = ~A brave statement in time of battle.  Your sentiments are true enough, but I will NOT trust you when you walk with the enemy.~
Notes: I tend not to use Viconia.

HUH?
@53167 = ~No, I am not.  I merely came to look at you.  You arrived from the depths and I wished to see if the darkness was in your eyes.~
Notes: Sounds like something General Solvadiaas would say.

TEMPLE RUINS CHAPTER 6 UNIMPLEMENTED
@53250 = ~There are chunks of broken mortar around the statue. It appears to have had a piece broken off. You could look more closely if you wish to.~
@53262 = ~You move closer to the statue and to your surprise, it begins to move! The stone head turns towards you and the mouth moves, but no sound comes out. The statue holds out its hands, as if asking for something and a look of profound sorrow mars its smooth marble features. After a brief moment, the statue moves back to its original position and moves no more.~
Notes: 53250 might be from Chapter 7, if you click on the statues without the Harp and Horn in your inventory.

DROW PRISONERS & SLAVES?
@52882 = ~Please don't... don't hurt me!  I've done nothing wrong!  I... I will try to perform my tasks quicker...~
@52883 = ~I am but a slave, sir... please don't hurt me.  I am only trying to do my job, as you command...~
@53383 = ~~ [DRPRIS05]
@53387 = ~~ [DRPRIS06]
@53388 = ~ I hail from a fallen House and am therefore without worth.~ [DRSLV101]
@53389 = ~ Would that things were different... alas, I have incurred the wrath of the Dark Mother.~ [DRSLV102]
@53390 = ~ Things...things could be worse.  I could have been made into a...a drider.~ [DRSLV103]
@53481 = ~ I...I am here to serve.~ [DRSLV104]
@53487 = ~~ [DRSLV105]
@53488 = ~~ [DRSLV106]

TOO BAD THEY'LL NEVER LIVE LONG ENOUGH TO SAY IT
@54867 = ~Arkanis! The thing bit me! Help!~
@54868 = ~You are mine now thief. Join thy mistress below, we shall yet have use of you.~
@53490 = ~Wh-what?!  Kachiko!  But... but she just died!  If the dead can be turned so quickly by this creature, we must defeat her, <CHARNAME>, we must!!~

WHOA!
@55525 = ~The vampire has turned <CHARNAME>! Now <PRO_HESHE> attacks!~
Notes: Is 'turned' supposed to mean "Charmed" or "Turned into a Vampire" in this instance?

I THOUGHT THE TEMPLES COULDN'T SEND ANYBODY?
@53493 = ~I am here from the temple of the dawn to support you in this battle, <CHARNAME>.  Let the forces of good and righteousness be victorious this day!~
@53494 = ~I am here from the temple of the Watcher, <CHARNAME>.  We do a great service this day, protecting all of Athkatla from this evil cancer which grows in its breast!~
@53495 = ~I have come from the temple of the Stormlord, fool!  We shall wreak great destruction on our enemies together!!  They shall rue the day they crossed our paths!!~
Notes: Maybe this only occurs in-game if you have one of the Cleric Strongholds.

SHOULD WE BRING THESE BACK?
@53681 = ~ I've a beverage of every flavor available for your perusal at the Five Flagons, yes indeedy!~ [FFBART02]
@53682 = ~ There's a theater downstairs, if you like...but don't forget a mug of spiced wine before you go!~ [FFBART03]
@53683 = ~ At the Five Flagons, tickling your palatte is our pleasure!~ [FFBART04]
@53684 = ~~ [FFBART06]
@53685 = ~~ [FFBART05]

PLANNED SHOWDOWN WITH ISAEA ROENALL?
@53687 = ~ I am quite through with you for the moment.~ [ISAEAX01]
@53688 = ~ For the honor of my name!~ [ISAEAX03]
@53692 = ~~ [ISAEAX04]
@53693 = ~~ [ISAEAX05]

CHILD OF BHAAL vs. LADY MARIA FIRECAM?
@53711 = ~ I greet you.~ [MARIAX01]
@53712 = ~ Do not do this!  I beg of you!~ [MARIAX03]
@53713 = ~~ [MARIAX04]
@53714 = ~~ [MARIAX05]

CAN WE ALTER THE SCRIPT SO THAT THIS ITEM ACTUALLY APPEARS SOMETIMES?
@53818 = ~This grubby note is written with something other than ink, but you don't want to think about that too much. It is indecipherable. The author was certainly insane.

Aqw vjkpm K co etcba, dwv vjga ycpv aqw vq vjkpm vjcv. K mpqy ugetgvu. Mggr vjg rcpvcnqqpu. Cnycau mggr vjg rcpvcnqqpu.~
Notes: Dundee Slaytern once stated that it is indeed possible to get the second note from Wanev. I suggested that he take a party to Spellhold and try to get the second note, while I stayed in Athkatla, trying to roll perfect 18s in all my stats. He declined. :)

UNUSED(?) SULDENESSELLAR CIVILANS
@54374 = ~~The... the monsters that the Exile commands came through here not long ago.  They ripped apart my... my friends... as if they were nothing but cattle for the slaughter.~
@54448 = ~My... my wife...~
@54449 = ~...she pushed me behind her, to protect me, and I fell.  And... and then she distracted the creature and ran away.  It... it chased her... and when it caught her... it... I...~
@54450 = ~I saw... I saw it e-eating her flesh... (sob!)  She s-saved me, but...~
@54451 = ~That's horrible!  I'm sorry for your loss.~
@54452 = ~A valiant woman.  Her memory should be honored.~
@54453 = ~Save your tears.  The day is not done, yet.  Go to the gates... Elhan is evacuating everyone there.~
@54454 = ~Y-yes.  Th-thank you.  There are many more who are dying yet... these creatures are everywhere.  Can you... can you do something about them?~
@54458 = ~Who...?  Strangers, here?  I suppose if the Exile can return, than almost anything is possible.  Now that the spirit guardians are here, perhaps we shall finally be saved.~
@54459 = ~Except for... except for my wife.  My poor wife and so many others.  I... p-please excuse me... I must grieve for my family.  I...~
@54460 = ~Please... leave me be.  All that I have ever loved is dead.  I must mourn for the fallen...~
@57792 = ~I fought...as long as I could...against a creature made of fire. I was forced to retreat here with many others. You must stop them!  Save my people!~
@57795 = ~(groan)  Ahhh... the... the black dragon!  It's... it's a black dragon!  R-run!  (moan)~
@57796 = ~There's a... (moan)  ... a creature made of sand.  It... it swallowed her inside itself... I saw it...~
@57799 = ~D-dark magic... illusions...  creatures everywhere!  H-help us...~
@57800 = ~(sob!)  I... I saw my child... eaten... by one of the creatures!  R-rillifane, Leaflord, save us!~
@57801 = ~(groan!)  So... so many killed!  Slaughtered!  Creatures... creatures with heads like tigers, eating flesh... horrible!~

CUT SULDENESSELLAR SOUNDS?
@53670 = ~~ [ELSOL107]
@53671 = ~~ [ELSOL106]
@53672 = ~~ [ELSOL105]
@53678 = ~~ [DRSOL106]
@53679 = ~~ [DRSOL105]

WHAT'S WRONG WITH THE GATES DISTRICT?
@54924 = ~Animal Trouble in Trademeet: Not interested.

Flydian in the Copper Coronet was soliciting help for Trademeet. It's under an animal-based siege where Druids are suspected. I told him I wasn't interested at this time.~
Notes: I suppose he could move to the Copper Coronet if you haven't spoken to him by Chapter 6, but I really doubt it.

RARE (AND POSSIBLY UNIMPLEMENTED) TREE OF LIFE VICTORY BANTERS
@55185 = ~It... it's finally over, then.  All those terrible things he did to us, and it's finally over.  Or... or is it?  <CHARNAME>, something's not right...~ (Imoen?)
@55186 = ~The evil wizard is dead!  Once again Boo and Minsc and <CHARNAME> emerge as victorious heroes!  Much rejoicing and celebrating must be commencing soon!~ (Minsc)
@55188 = ~A bitter end to a terrible man.  We did well, I think, but I am not certain that all has been restored to as it was.  <CHARNAME>?  Do you feel any different?~ (Anomen?)
@55189 = ~There.  It is done.  Once again magic has turned into a dangerous obsession and destroyed more than just the life of its user.  (sigh)  Must it always be like this?~ (Valygar)
@55191 = ~We are victorious, it seems... but it was almost too easy.  There is no sense of finality, of justice, in this.  Perhaps it feels that way only because this is an ending?~ (Mazzy?)
@55192 = ~Whew!  For a few minutes there, I thought I was a goner.  My life flashed before my eyes and it didn't even stop at the good parts.  Ah, well.  Anyone want the wizard's boots?  I want his boots.  What about his hat?  Does he have a pointy hat?~ (Jan)
@55193 = ~Excellent!  A well-fought victory over a powerful wizard!  Now let us plunder whatever secrets he must possess!  He surely has a motherlode of magic at his disposal, oh yes!~ (Edwin)
@55194 = ~The mage was a fool to believe himself so powerful.  Now he is dead, as fools usually become.  But... what of you, <CHARNAME>?  Have you recovered what you lost?~ (Viconia?)
@55195 = ~Ah, let the muses fly once again!  A victory has been won this day that shall be sung of through the ages!  Entropy works its end even on those who seek to rise above it... what a truer claim could be made?~ (Haer'Dalis)
@55196 = ~So... so it's over.  Just like that.  It's odd... I thought things would be different, somehow, that it wouldn't be so... so easy.  I don't know.~ (Nalia?)
@55197 = ~We have come a long way, <CHARNAME>, to reach this day.  Much has been lost, but at last the wizard lies dead.  A victory in the truest sense of the word.~ (Jaheira)
@55198 = ~He is dead!  For all his boasts, he was nothing more than another villain waiting to die at the hands of the righteous!~ (Keldorn?)
@55199 = ~Har!  A fine victory, if I does say so meself!  Now, all we need doin' is to get out of this tree stump and find ourselves some willing lasses and some decent grog, that's what!~ (Korgan)
@55200 = ~This... this is the victory, then?  He seemed to me so... so... god-like, I suppose.  To think he could fall and simply die seems wrong, somehow.~ (Aerie)
@55201 = ~After all that we went through and this is our victory?  He's just dead, and that's all there was to it?  Huh... dead.  Just like anyone else.  It seems so weird.~ (Another Imoen?)
@55202 = ~The wizard strove to upset the balance and he has met his end.  Some might call this a victory, but I say a man has simply died.  It strikes me odd that such a man would meet his end so simply.~ (Cernd)
Notes: I've labeled the speeches that sound more like one NPC than another, but there are 16 speeches for only 15 NPCs that could possibly be in the party. Perhaps the extra is to accomodate the 2nd Anomen personality, perhaps they were written before Yoshimo was written out of the latter half of the game, or perhaps one NPC simply has two lines.

I think 52690 and 52821 are already used ingame.

Perhaps 52731-52733 are used in the dialogue with Szordrin? Maybe it was originally possible to decide for yourself which opponent you would fight first...
