A message like that can show up if your WeiDU versions have gotten out of whack. What version does it say it is when you run Setup-Banterpack.exe?

Hm... I have to say you... I'd like to uninstall banter accelerator, but I couldn't. The message was: "...it's impossibly due to mod is to old or too new..."
Unfortunately I cannot send you weidu.log... I have some unreal problem between XP and BG2

So you're sure you've re-run Setup-Banterpack.exe and asked it to uninstall just the banter accelerator components?

If so, send me this:

your weidu.log file from your BG2 directory
your baldur.bcs file from your BG2\override directory.

Place these in a zip file and send to jcompton@pocketplane.net.

Every few minutes is too much even with the accelerator installed. What else have you installed?

How often should I normally see the banter? I get one every few minutes... that seems too much.

It's possible that you're simply seeing banter more often than you're used to seeing it. Without additional banter installed, as the game goes along the frequency can drop because, when "chosen", the NPC nominated by the timer has no banter to run.

But I'm playing it slow, going through all the sidequests... and the frequency of the banters is annoying. And it feels weird, some of the banters seem to be intended to happen after many game days, but they all happen almost at once. I uninstalled banter accelerator but it's still working in my game... :(

The banter accelerator makes banters occur more often. If you play the game very quickly, particularly if you don't spend time completing all the side quests, it may be a good idea to install it so that you see all of the new banters we add to the game plus the Bioware banters.

What exactly IS banter accelerator and should I install it?

And there was much rejoicing.

Now, is there any chance to get it in any other form than the self-extracting .exe? It would make the mac users happy (well, alright, it would make me happy, but it sounds better if I pretend I'm speaking for a whole group here)...

Heh. Um, I suppose I can see about putting up a zip version soonish. Since there's nothing else fancy going on scripting-wise, I don't need someone to build a Mac-specific installer, but you'll still be on your own for Mac OS X WeiDU.

I don't want to nag, but...

*nag, nag*

Seriously considering starting a new game to see all the banters in action.
Still in Chapter 2 so it won't be to much of a lost game.
