A cozy B&B somewhere in the Moonshae Islands.   B)
Somehow I suspect one of those b's isn't what it normally is...

I think a nice private island somewhere would be nice. No one to bother us for at least a month... or a year ;)

Bluenoses and bluestockings... no wonder I'm having a serious fit of the blues ... gah.

Hmmm... where in the Realms would you like to explore with Solaufein once all that godhood mess is out of the way?

I'm not familar with FR but from what I've seen, Candle Keep. Notably just to see his reaction to the old farts who blab about the PC running around as a toddler in the buff. However... the comptetion with the books would be awful... (Note, very OOC behavior ahead and author who proably isn't known in Faerun. ^_^)

PC] *tries dragging our beloved drow away from the libaray*
Sola]  Must... read... more... Faulkner!

Where were we on this before we got sidetracked onto such seriousness anyways? Hmmm... where in the Realms would you like to explore with Solaufein once all that godhood mess is out of the way?
Heh.  Try a little blue language.  Sometimes helps.

As for where to go with Sola, Qilue runs a nice Eilistraean spa in some Waterdhavean suburb or other.

Before today, the only bluenoses I had heard of were in Nova Scotia (for example, as in the schooner Bluenose, featured on the obverse of the Canadian dime).

And, alas, there's no Solaufeining to be done, which is why we're trying to amuse ourselves with totally random tangents. Sigh.
Well if trivial irrelancies are to be the order of the day, I never heard of a Nova Scotian referred to as a bluenose - but Webster has both our definintions so we each learned something; something useless, granted, but something nonetheless.

Although I was born and bred in Massachusetts, I think first of bluebloods when I think of Puritans. Before today, the only bluenoses I had heard of were in Nova Scotia (for example, as in the schooner Bluenose, featured on the obverse of the Canadian dime). But I do not doubt you.

No, bluestockings were the first group of formally educated women to receive degrees from Oxbridge; so called because, being of middle-class origins and modest means, they could afford education or fine hosiery but not both.  Choosing education meant they had to swathe their lower limbs in plebian blue stockings.

Ah well.  Ye'd better be back to Solaufeining;  'tis far more entertaining and has at least a perceptible connection to the purpose of this forum.

I'd say the bluenoses went after him purely on merit as that was estimated in Boston in the 1920's.
I thought the term was bluestocking, or perhaps I'm thinking of something else.

"Banned in Boston"

Heh, now there's a phrase I haven't heard in ages.   B)

No.  An old US term for censorious prigs; spoiled Puritans whose capital was Boston, Ma.  There they had such vast influence on what literature could be sold in that commonwealth that "Banned in Boston" became an advertising plug in the rest of the country for any novel set in the 20th century.

Uh ... the Nova Scotians went after him?

I'd doubt it.  Before the trial, he wasn't a big-league celebrity like Coward or Wilde, so his own preferences wouldn't have been common-enough knowledge to make a difference.  I'd say the bluenoses went after him purely on merit as that was estimated in Boston in the 1920's.
