If you could just make her hold back a couple of her abilities (the ones that cause blind and slow come to mind) in the ch. 3 battle, I think that fighting her would be more feasible.  I know running away is recommended, but even hasted (until she slows you), the bats (and, to a lesser degree, the archers) slow me down too much... I've yet to actually get away from her, although maybe that's for the best, since running in circles for five minutes doesn't sound too appealing anyways.  I've gotten her down to badly injured a few times, but her nifty blinding ability that isn't dispelled by true sight makes her essentially unhittable once she invokes it.

I like all of her abilities conceptually, and it looks like she'll make for an excellent battle in ch. 6, but at level 10?  Maybe my technique is lacking, and if anyone has some more tips I'd love to hear them, but, uh, it's just not working out at the moment.  I'm loathe to go back to the original bodhi that folds in about 12 seconds flat, but it's looking like the only way I'm going to make any progress at this point.

So, uh, yeah.  Toned down ch. 3 bodhi would be nice.
Just for you, the first imp bodhi will no longer do Abyssal Darkness or Cloud of Bats. See next release.

I'll never see Improved Bodhi so it's not really important to me either way

Really? How come?
The mod doesn't interest me.  (Which raises the question of why I'm here, of course...but I think I have a useful suggestion occasionally.)

Has to do with those baddies already being present in your saved game, I'll wager.
                   That would explain things...

Plot-wise, Bodhi was never very good at holding back ("I know I'm early ...")
You think she was even a little sincere about giving the PC a chance to escape?

I think she was waiting there at the exit the whole time.  "I expected you to come.  You'd be a fool to let me reach Irenicus."

and since her soul is coming from Imoen, the incentive for her isn't all that great either.
Oh, I don't know.  She'd probably rather Irenicus be willing to graft the soul onto her, rather than, "'You killed my Bhaalspawn!'  Irenicus casts Lower Resistence, Lower Resistance, Lower Resistance, Greater Malison, Disintegrate-----> Bodhi."

: shrug:  I'll never see Improved Bodhi so it's not really important to me either way.

I could try to make Aran-Bodhi concentrate on "not the PC" but the scripting-effort to payoff ratio seems low. Plot-wise, Bodhi was never very good at holding back ("I know I'm early ...") and since her soul is coming from Imoen, the incentive for her isn't all that great either. Since the game ends when the PC dies, to some degree explaining the plot after that point isn't all that important. So the gamer will throw the others in front of the PC anyway, which gives the effect that we want.

However, if anyone would like to submit a revised version of c6bodhi.baf (used for both encounters, the chapter 2 one is carrying "potn52") that "avoids" the PC, I will probably incorporate it.

Here's original commented the BAF source:

My query is though, why didn't uninstalling improved Bodhi remove all her extra abilities, minions and dialogues?

I don't know, but I do know that this does happen with other mods as well - after trying to take on Improved Maevar with a 8-9th level party, I decided to uninstall just for this battle. The result was that Maevar&Co. (including the familiar who is not there in the original) just stood there and did nothing.

Yeah, I know you're not supposed to beat her as such, but I couldn't even put up a fight...she just sent every one to sleep and went to town.

I never bother to fight her in Chapter 3. Here is a trick: she only dimension doors to your main character. So keep your party out of it and run around avoiding her (that's what she says, right- test of stamina?). You can actually run faster than she dimension doors (Boots of Speed + Improved Haste).

Just so long as she doesn't kill CharName in one blow.   I can see it now..."Oh.  Oops.  Brother dear, you'll have to get another Bhaalspawn, this one was way too fragile."
Turning up at Spellhold with the spawn of Bhaal in a carrier bag probably wouldn't make Irenicus too happy...

Maybe she could spawn some more of those Grimwarders around the player character around Player 1 and see how he/she deals with them.

Just thought I'd throw my voices in with the masses, that's a great suggestion for Bodhi, especially since she crushed me in Ch. 3 numerous times (as I mentioned in a different thread)...and from a story point of view it makes sense...maybe she can fight you until you're at half hp's then change focus or something because she did say she wanted to learn about fighting 'you' (the protagonist) so it'd be a bit silly if she completely avoided him/her.

just having her go after other party members and avoid the main character would do it.  "I made sure you got to Spellhold.  Completely alone, but who cares?")
I like this idea. Of course, for solo'ers it would mean she just stands there, so maybe a little extra logic would be required. :)

This is quite true.  And she is conspicuously pulling her punches in the official Chapter Three battle (she only drains two levels per hit, even though she's a Matriarch).  Hey, Wes?  You might want to consider making Chapter Three Improved Bodhi act less lethal for logic's sake.  (Now that I think about it, you wouldn't even need to make her any less dangerous--just having her go after other party members and avoid the main character would do it.  "I made sure you got to Spellhold.  Completely alone, but who cares?")

Yeah, I know you're not supposed to beat her as such, but I couldn't even put up a fight...she just sent every one to sleep and went to town. At that stage in the game though, isn't she supposed to want you to get to spellhold? Dishing out chunky deaths to everyone isn't exactly going to help her brother's master plan...which she is going to benefit from too.

Maybe I'm being a bit rubbish and should try and do that encounter from a totally defensive stand point like you suggest.
