Installation Problems
« on: October 20, 2008, 04:41:40 PM »
Hey guys I just recently decided to give the Baldur's Gate series another run through when I discovered all these wonderful mods. I've been reading up on them all and selected some I think I would enjoy playing with. Unfortunately I can not get TuTu to install, I'll outline what I've been doing and hopefully someone can help me.

Installed Original Baldur's Gate custom install, full (5 cd version)
Installed TOSC custom install, full
Patched TOSC
Installed SOA full (4 cd version)
Installed TOB full
Patched TOB
Downloaded latest version of Easytutu
unzipped it in the default directory
Began installing, everything was going fine, seemed to do the BG2 part with no hitches, got to the end of the BG1 part and then that is where the trouble started
The installation reached the high 90%'s and appeared to finish
A new window popped up named "Installing Tutu Core Files, Please Wait..."
an error box appeared saying the following:   ".\"  folder is not accessible  (folder is not accessible was a line below the period and dash)
I clicked ok to the error
It went back to the tutu setup and displayed the following warning "Failed to patch BGMain.exe! Cannot Continue!"

I've tried reinstalling and it hasn't worked...any help would be much appreciated, thank you very much.

Hrmm, you kind of have me stumped here.  I'd guessed you were using Vista and the problem related to that.

Try changing some things up and seeing if you can budge the problem.  Redownload the distribution.  Install to a different folder (say, C:\EasyTutu instead of the default under program files).

unzipped it in the default directory
??? Just please tell me you didn't unzip it to the default game folder, but the default Temp folder as the running of the EasyTutu_*.exe instructs. Because if you did unzip it there(game folder), you'll need to uninstall the game and delete the game folder, before you can install it again to proceed.
