230 first and 232 then were bugged... alas, WeiDU has been infected by the even-release-disease which has been plaguing Win for many years already  ;D

I need more information. I have successfully installed BGT over 1PP, Item Revisions and Spell Revisions 5 times now. So info like "I do X, Y and then Z and the installation fails" (with details) would be just super. Failing that, I can wrap some improved error reporting around the relevant bits and put out a new beta for your friends to use.

Lisandro also reported this problem with 231.08.

I found a bug in version 233.

When installing for the first time a mod that adds custom strings to dialog.tlk, the first strings in dialog.tlk (e.g. StringRef 0,1, etc.) will be used instead of the newly added ones, but only if weidu.conf does not exist yet and the strings were not already present in dialog.tlk. Reinstalling the mod a second time will work fine (with or without weidu.conf in the main directory).

This can be easily tested (I used BGEE v1.0.2014 but should be the same with other versions of BG) by deleting weidu.conf and installing the mod with the following very simple tp2:

COPY_EXISTING ~BAG31.STO~ ~override~
SAY NAME2 ~Erg's Bag of Holding~ // A silly name not already present in dialog.tlk

And it's another win for spaghetti code.
Thanks. This bug only affects BGEE-type games. Edit: using --use-lang dodges this problem.
