Another quick question...

I've never actually played IWD before, and I'm wondering how the expansions work? Do they add new areas into the regular IWD game, or do they began after completion of IWD? If I import my character along with the NPC's into the expansion will they lose all progress with romance and friendships? Otherwise at what point should I take a break from the main quest and do the expansion areas?

First, TotL expansion is inside HoW expansion.

Second, there are two ways to play HoW expansion:

1) separate(this way you'll feel it's a separate adventure with your friends, but no romantic tinge at all, and the sense of final will be much weaker)

2) in the middle of the original campaign(after chapter 3 is my advice, though after chapter 2 or after chapter 4 is fine, too - chapter 6 may be a little too late), where it will feel a natural part of the game. Banters and friendships and interjections will flow naturally.
