I was recommended the IWD NPC mod by my sister, and on beginning a game with it freshly installed I was suprised at the extra dimension that the NPCs add to the game. In fact, I'd probably say IWD has overtaken BGII as my favourite D&D RPG with the addition of the NPC mod.

I was surprised at how professional the voice talent was, and how well done the characters and their back stories were. Even better was the flawless dialog that was engaging and articulate, but didn't clog up the flow of the game too much. I did make quite a large alteration to my party, in that I used dalekeeper to change Nella in to a pure cleric, and I used Severn as a mage instead of a wizard, making some of the dialog a little irrelevant (although I have to say, I did like to imagine him as a randomly singing mage!). My only complaint is the late onset of the romances (I played as a female half-elven fighter) but then again, it seemed realistic in that sense as even though my charisma was 18, it took until Seldarine's hand before I dazzled any of my male companions. In the end, I told Korin to cool it, and Severn to go for Terri, and that left me Holvir. Sweet as he was, I felt frustrated at his lack of advances, and I was left wondering when we would *ahem* finally get some action. When he told me he couldn't marry me and had to maintain his chastity etc... I suddenly realized why he had been frigid, and I chose to stay with him, though with no promises as to sharing a future together. I thought this was a refreshing change from Anomen, who tried to bed the protagonist almost instantly, and that it reflected well Holvir's devotion to Tyr.

All in all, thanks for making a great game is greater!  Smiley

And thank you for taking time to tell me you enjoyed it. Smiley

Yes, romances start late. I'd like to give the characters more action, more time to flirt, but, alas, the game *is* rather short, compared to BG2.
I'm glad that Korin and Holvir proved to be different, so that your heroine had enough of a choice. Glad you enjoyed the mod!
