Oh, yeah, big time. I usually spam the "continue" button, and think "Will someone please give this guy an asthma inhaler?"

Same here re: the spamming of the Continue, and yeah, the zany sound effects they overlaid suggest 'asthmatic' rather than 'dead god weakened beyond belief'. I wish they had gone with the standard Resonant Well Modulated God Voice.

(I thought we were supposed to talk about my mods here, you know.)

I've always wanted to see this quest expanded, by the way. This quest and the quest in the ruined temple in Umar Hills. The priests of Lathander cleaning the place, an old cleric of Amaunator performing a ritual, whatever, something. Maybe Gavin/a quest mod will take care of this.

Heh. Actually, I'd thought about cleansing the temple of Amaunator under the temple district. So much, in fact, that I actually sat down and figured out what would be involved. I originally considered the temple in the Umar Hills, but that is so heavily involved in other mods and other quests that I decided that I didn't want to touch it, just to preserve compatibility, if not for logistical reasons.

But there are logistical considerations for the temple under the the Temple district as well.

At first, I thought about making them look "Lathanderized." That would require redoing four areas, one enormous, two big, one small. Not going to happen.

First of all, access through the sewers? Uh, no, that won't do at all. These are Lathandrites, don't forget. They don't do grime. And that whole Cult of the Eyeless area, the crypt area where Sassar was, and the area with the bridge... there's no way those could be fixed up to look nice without a complete overhaul.

However, there are two unused buildingings in the actual area of the Amaunator temple itself. Currently, they've got info points that say that there's nothing inside, but they could be made up as transition areas, perhaps to a location within the temple of Lathander.

But that's all just speculation. There's still most of a mod to write.

I feel like I'm the only player who actually continues to find the "out of the sight of I" sequence effective.

The "almost beyond the sight of I" line is great initially, but begins to grate subsequently. Incidentally, why does Amaunator speak in the third person, when other gods - Cyric, for example, speak naturally? One reason for all the hate you get from your devotees, Ammy, is because of that third-person affectation. Lose it!  ;D

Clerics, Paladins, Monks, Druids can all use healing scrolls.  I believe that Mages and Thieves can use them as well, though thieves may require the Use Scrolls section of Refinements.  I'm not sure about Bards/Sorcerers or rangers.  This is all going on memory.

Yeah, no, Nalia does not need to perform any class-specific tricks in the course of the romance. People can make her a jester for all I care.

I didn't see this earlier. I see JC's reached the end of his tether on that one  ;D. I bugged him about that as well, I recall.

Anytime now you're going to be asked if people can play Nalia as a Blackguard of Cyric.

Scroll of Cure Serious Wounds can be used by Clerics, Paladins, Rangers, Druids and relative multiclasses (including Inquisitors, FP material?). Thieves and Bards can with the 'Use all Items' HLA, but not with the Refinements' 'Use Scrolls', which only enables Mage Scrolls. The Rod can be used by everybody (including Wizard Slayers, FP material?).

D&D "rods" are generally specified as being explicitly usable by everyone (thus distinguishing them from "wands" and "staves") so it's probably not a mistake. (Plus it neatly avoids the non-problem of a chapter 6 PC who has recklessly gotten all of the clerics in the game killed from being able to complete this quest!) Even for the Wizard Slayer who can drink potions blah blah.

it neatly avoids the non-problem <etc>
You're giving Bioware far too much credit here - they didn't even think of "Mind Flayer shape kills MINHP1". Besides, what if I sold the Order's Gloves of healing and all Rods of Resurrection to the Sahuagin merhant?  :P
