Corthala Romantique is up for adoption
« on: September 07, 2005, 05:32:46 PM »
If anyone is interested to adopt Val's Romance, please give me a shout. It's 90% done, but a couple of problems persist in SoA/ToB (Leonora's Quest being the worst of them) plus the voicing needs to be spliced, ogg'ized, and added. There are good beta-testing reports available. In short, it needs to be cleaned up. I cannot summon any sort of enthusiasm to do it. If anyone wants it - it's yours to do what you will with it. Otherwise, I think, I will have to pronounce it dead.

If that's in earnest, and you can actually do something appart from mocking and cavorting those who do things, then it's all yours. PM/e-mail and I will talk to Cam about the forum transfer. If not, then kindly <insert the exact quote from the oilfield oprators facing a blow out>.

what's jc?  (besides the famous healer) but I agree- I've resorted to BP madness to try and find the spark again.  Not that I rwally dislike BP, it's just... tricky.

Sorry, Corvis, I weighted the two alternatives and preffered a person whose work and dedication I hold in the highest regard. Blood Raven, what have I ever done to you, I don't know, but you can go to hells.

Personally, I was hoping it would be settled Iron Modder style, whoever could finish the romance best in four hours would win the official rights.

Some news of it ?  ??? Because the french team "the d'Oghmatiques" grouping translators of BG2 and IWD2 mods almost finished it some days ago (we make another reading) when we received the beta when the mod was on forgotten studio.  :'(

Recently I was trying to find some up-to-date information on Corthala Romantique mod. I found nothing. Is this project (after all these years) still alive? Can I download it? Valygar is my deffinitelly favorite NPC and it would be really cool to romence him (especially in ToB). :P

Currently it's in Meira's hands, just as Ashara wrote.  You can go to gibberlings3.net and ask about it in Amber forum, if you like.

I played an alpha, and it's very interesting indeed, but in some of the endings Valygar dumps you at the end of ToB, which is, um, not very reassuring. Better than Xan dying, though. :) By the way, there's a SoA series of romantic lovetalks for Valygar in Romantic Encounters mod, so if you want, try it out.

Thanks, I'll ask Meira. Though if it was ever to be finished, it would be by now I guess...

So, are you THE Kulyok? :P Well, congratulations on your job! I’ve just been playing BG2 with RE and I must say it’s fantastic. It adds much depth to Valygar. He seems so real, though yet sensitive and caring. He’s a kind of guy I was hoping to find in BG. The only problem is: I want more, mooore, MOOORE… This romance had ended before I even got to Brynnlaw. I got the necklace, wore it and that’s it. (In the Underdark all I could get from him was “Suna! Oh, Suna…” moaning – damn you, UB! ;)) Who will support me in the horrible Spellhold dungeon? Who will help me regain my soul? Who will show me how to be human again? ;P I just need a man who will stand by my side to the very end. Yeah, I really want to believe in all the “and they lived happily ever after” stuff.

I know this may not be the right place, but you must be well informed. How does Valygar romance from TS differ from the independent (CR) project? Is the latter simply en extention or maybe it's something completely different?

(Finally! I was called The Kulyok! ;D Is Paragon-hood not far behind? )

TS and Corthala Romantique are by the same author - you probably know that already. First there was a Valygar romance for TS. Then it was edited, expanded, new talks and flirts were added(and ToB content was written later) - and it became Corthala Romantique.

It was very long ago, you understand - about six years ago. Domi(Ashara) wrote many great mods since then - IWD2 NPCs, Kivan for BG2, various BG1 NPC dialogue and romances, and even mods for NWN2. But you probably know that, too. :) Anyway, I'm afraid I don't know about the mod's progress much.

As for Valygar for RE, I might write some more for him. I don't know if it happens soon, though.
