What method are you using to see if these creatures are unused?  I notice RUFIE.CRE listed, but he's created via ALBERT.DLG.

It was just the results of NI's "Find Unused Files..." tool.  It's not too reliable, but it's a place to start.  I just have to go through each result and weed out the incorrect ones.

I'm guessing it's checking to see if the creatures are in .are files.

A suggestion; check the list between a BG1 install and a Tutu install.  If RUFIE.cre and _RUFIE.cre exist, then the creature's used.

Yeah, that's one way to do it.  I can also do a "search for references" from the Edit tab and that usually works pretty well.  It's just a matter of, well, doing it.  :-\

But, that's what weekends are for!

AMNIS2: apparently intended for the Nashkel barracks, but for some reason he got replaced with HICK.  Not sure why, since AMNIS2 has more to say than his counterpart.

ARCHDR: seems to have been replaced by DRUID2 for reasons of game balance (ARCHDR even uses DRUID2.dlg).  He's level 12 and calls Seniyad his superior in his charmed dialogue, so Seniyad was probably originally supposed to be something like level 14 rather than level 9.

ARKANIS, CANDER, DEDER, MORDAI and OSPREY: the temporary party members in the chapter 1 training sequence.

AVERY: Six could also be thinking of Black Isle's Doug Avery, producer on BG1, SoA and ToB :).  Whatever the case, his dialogue file is blank, so it seems likely he's not in the game.

BART8: supposedly the bartender at the Elfsong (AR0705), but BART11 appears there instead.

BART9: supposedly the bartender at the Helm & Cloak (AR0116), but BART12 appears there instead.

CASSON: Tremain Belde'ar's son, whose body you retrieve from the temple of Umberleee.

CORSONE: appears after you kill Osmadi in Larswood and claims to be a companion of Osmadi, but turns out to be a shadow druid who poisoned Osmadi and his group.

DEAGAN: according to his dialogue, he approaches the party and asks them to go see Aldeth Sashenstar in the Three Old Kegs.  However, since Aldeth is hanging around outside the Merchant's League building (only if you sided with him back in the Cloakwood, of course) and not in the Three Old Kegs, I'd think it's a safe bet that Deagan was cut.

DROTH: the ogre mage who "owns" Shoal the Nereid.

DRUID2, DRUIDC: most likely were going to appear alongside Seniyad in the Cloakwood, but Bioware decided simply to use three copies of DRUID3 instead.  Incidentally, for some reason DRUID2, DRUID3 and DRUIDC are all Neutral Good Clerics :D.

Its been a while since i played bg1, but i remember Jamie. Can't exactly place him, but he might have been the lover of either a)the guv'ners daughter in Nashkel or b)the daughter of the noble in Beregost.

Of course he might have been also a worker/slave in either of the two mines, but the first guess feels right.

That's the stalker quest. Two little girls are frightened by a nighttime stalker. Both Gervisse and Voltine claim the other of being the stalker. Gervisse(i think) is the stalker. This all happens i a house in NW baldurs gate

I'm going out on a limb to say that VOICE.CRE/DLG is the cut end cutscene stuff.  Makes me want to restore it even less.  :)

Please note:  *Anyone* is welcome to speak up and say "omg this sux" or "yes, this is in the game, k" about any of the things posted in this thread.  It's been awhile since I've played past Chapter 2 or 3, and my memory is shit to boot, so I'll take whatever help I can get.

I really don't remember any of it, except the FARMWE stuff, which is assigned to the island's Lahl.

I agree that Feldane looks important, but I sure don't remember ever having a conversation like that.

The "dream" is awfully reminiscent of a certain series of trials in a certain other game, innit?

With Keelor and Nasha, it looks like they hadn't settled on whether Nasha was a male merchant or Keelor's sister. MERCHA uses the same dialogues as the existing Nasha (I'm sure you noticed that).

Complete (?) list of Ajantis/monk/Eldoth quest -related NPCs: Utor, Hastenback, Krotan, Lenore, Satos, Pique, Shelton, and probably Avery (all that talk about his missing companions). This looks so interesting, but very weird indeed, since it would certainly change Eldoth's role in the game.

Have you ever read the BG Comic? I always thought it was just a throwaway promo piece, but it does pit Ajantis against a traitorous Eldoth, and Shar-Teel takes the other starring role. It's a completely different plotline, but an interesting coincidence.
