Ok here it is a whole new page to post ideas on how you think the other npc characters will react to the PC's romance with Sexy Solaufein

Most important of all is the notion to keep all banters conflict free especially with Jaheria, Viccy, Aerie and Anomen....

But above all else have some fun as i think some of them could be really funny Mistress Elysia's Minsc one being a good example... Cheesy  Cheesy

It's accepted that these might not be accepted into Wes's creation or idea of Solaufein but i think it would be fun to try and see what we all come up with...

 Cheesy  Cheesy  Cheesy

Let the banters commence... Tongue  Cheesy  Wink

(female char/male char not in romance w/ Jaheira) Jaheira: Child, I feel I must forewarn you of the conflicts that will arise from such an . . . intimate . . .  relationship with Solafein . . . a drow. (this is where my muse stops, leaving ME to fill in the rest <_<) Society is unaccepting enough, I belive you would be merely adding to the fire and I just wish to warn you to be cautious.

And something along the lines of "I have no comment either way. I am a little . . . (I hate being repetitive, but cautious/a synonym of cautious) about your decision to do this, but I will not stop you, nor attempt to do so. It is your life, your decision. But just know this: even a small decision such as this can have large, lasting affects on not just you and Solafein, but the entire party as well. (*cough*DUNDUNDUN!!!!*cough*)

Or something like that.

Thats great Shian... Cheesy

I will try to attempt to write one for Viccy at somepoint in the next few days...

Not looking forward to it as she can be quite nasty in some of her comments...going to be hard to avoid jealousy or any sort of conflict with her...

Ok here's one with Imoen...

Imoen herself has known from very early on her sisters/brothers feelings for Solaufein and in this she teases her sibling after she almost catches them kissing for the first time...

Let me know of you opinions...

Setting after evening meal...party is starting to get ready for rest...

As you have decided to be first on watch tonight, you make your way towards a spot where you can take advantage of any attackers that may inadvertently come your way...Imoen has just come over and left you with some left over food incase you get a little hungry...

A little while later you feel the touch of a hand on your shoulder and sit bolt upright aware that you had fallen asleep...looking up you see Solaufein watching you intently...

Sola: I'm sorry <charname>....but i have been watching you for sometime and i noticed that you were tired and i seen the hand of slumber claim you...if i startled you...

PC: That’s ok Solaufein, i'm grateful for your observant eyes...i might not have been so lucky it could have been a bandit, you shudder at the thought...

Sola: True but you'd be more than a match for them of that i'm certain....besides (sits down beside <charname>) it can happen t anyone...

At that moment Solaufein reaches out and touches your arm as you are looking up towards the stars he watches you intently and you turn your head to speak to Solaufein not realizing just how close his mouth is to yours...your eyes lock together... You feel yourself drawn to Solaufein, as if an invisible force is propelling you forward. Just as your lips are about to meet, however, you hear the crack of a twig. As if awakening from a dream, you both snap your heads away from each other, and look towards the sound. Coming towards you is a very sleepy looking Imoen.

Immy: Heya...*yawn* I think I'm supposed to relieve you about now....oh, hi solaufein! *knowing grin* Why're you here?

Sola: Err, couldn't sleep....

Immy: *yawns again* Yeah, well, if that's the case you can take my watch...come on, budge up <charname>...

Sola: <gives you an odd smile and shrugs his shoulders> Well, goodnight then, both of you...I'll be...off then...

As Imoen starts to pull you away your turn your head back towards Solaufein and although you are uncertain you think you see a look of regret in his eyes but as he looks up and meets your eyes you see it replaced with a distant expression as if he has slipped on a mask... confused with his reaction and even more so with your own emotions you run on to catch Imoen up as you both return to your bedrolls...

As you lie down to go to sleep she whispers...

Imoen: Hey <charname>...i wasn't disturbing anything was i?

PC: Disturbing??...what are you babbling on about this time...

Imoen: (a little more loudly) Ya know that you two were about too get it on...

PC: (startled) You look around and satisfed that no one has woken you glare at Imoen...keep your voice down...you're the only one who's guessed but before you get any ideas nothing i repeat nothing has happened ok...

Imoen: Yeeesh...Take it easy <charname> if you want just go back and talk to him...i'll just make up something if anyone wakes and asks...

PC: (You look towards the shadowy figure of Solaufein and although your heart is willing your head is not...) When you speak its tinged with sadness...no Imoen...if its meant to be it will be...i will not force it...

Imoen: Well as Solaufein would say "As you wish m'lady...(she winks at you and turns over on her side and feigns sleep so you cannot make the tart reply that is on the tip of your tongue...

And there you have it hope its ok...

Thx

If you can help out all please by all means go ahead...

I have to admit that the post above was actually co-written by Mistress Elysia when my muse ran off in protest that i was a slave driver...so at the current moment hes hiding in a dark corner...but don't be surprised if you trip up over him in The Bar ok...

Anyway...coming up with ideas for Viccy is proving harder as anything i've thought of so far has ended up in conflict...(damn that muse)

The idea for minsc and Aerie should be in here and not in the other thread but i forgot to post a new topic...silly me...

I look forward to your ideas... Cheesy

I like it, but some of the dialogue sounds a little modern. Also, remember that these dialogues should be gender neutral, so you'll want to specify lady/lord where necessary.

On the whole, a good first draft. I'd like to see what you come up with when it's been polished somewhat. Smiley

At first when you said some of the dialogue was a bit modern i couldn't quite see it  but on closer inspection you're right...

I also forgot to alter it so it was gender neutral....throws the nearest book at her muse...

Won't happen again...

I'll try to alter it and see what happens...back to the drawing board muse.... Cheesy

*grin* Believe me, I had a *very* hard time writing for Sola at first. Forgetting to stay gender neutral, sounding rather modern...those are all common mistakes. It'll become easier to remember these things with practice. Smiley

Yah, you'll get it eventually. Tongue (I'm so finicky I read and re-read my own stuff over and over and over . . .)

I also seem to have a natural kick for writing very neutral stuff . . . Tongue j/k ^_^

P.S. I wrote a dialogue for Eirie and sent it to . . . SHAR? I think it was SHAR. Not sure what her and Elysia did to it tho . . . (I mena that in a good way ^_^)

Aerie: (If male and in flirting stage/light romance w/ Aerie) I-I . . . I-really-don't-think-you-s-should. . . i-it's j-j-just that the d-drow are m-mean and c-cruel and I-I-really-don't-want-you-to-get-hurt. (or, instead of that last I-really-don't-want. . . 'He m-might try t-to k-kill you in y-you sleep! Y-you c-can't trust them!)

(If female/male not in romance) Aerie: I-I really don't t-think it's w-wise t-to . . . c-c-continue . . . this relationship you s-seem to h-have with t-that awful d-drow, S-solafein, CHARNAME. You c-can't t-trust drow! H-he m-might t-try to h-hurt you or s-something, a-and as a f-friend I-I advise against it. Y-you're only a-asking for p-pain. P-please r-r-reconsider it. (or would it be 'c-consider it[?]' )

This was the pm that Shian sent me on what Aerie would say if and when she finds out about the PC's romance with Solaufein...

I must admit i agree that Aerie would be extremely nervous upon hearing of the romance...i think these would be great to use by maybe we should expand on them and give them a little dialogue to stretch it out a bit...

Comments Anyone??

First off, I like it. I could definitely picture Aerie saying it, so I think you've hit her right on.
My only criticism is that I'm not sure she would stutter quite that much.

I'm not sure if your Aerie-in-romance response is usable, since it tips rather close to a romance conflict (and even if it doesn't, it raises some roleplaying issues..."what, Aerie is going to ask the PC to reconsider and then that's the end of it, she won't say anything else even if the PC also decides to romance Solaufein?"). It's up to Wes, of course, I'd just hate for anyone to go to a lot of work writing in-romance responses only to find that they won't be accepted.
Anyway, good work. Smiley

Good points Athena. I haven't played in a while (school is hectic, let Christmas break come soon let it come SOOON!!!!!!) and I've forgotten how much(or should I say 'little') she stutters. Tongue

I agree with the romance one causing conflicts. . . as it were, they were only rough examples of Aerie as I imagine she would act. . . rough drafts . . . Wink

Thx again for pointing out possible conflicts. . . didn't really think about it. Tongue

These were originally posted in the interjection ideas thread, but since they are valid to this topic too I'll re-post them for the enjoyment of those that have not for reason or another gone through the old treads. How I'm not at all surprised that they were all done by Sphira?

This is written under the assumption of the 'blind' clause. *nods* Now, I better see more Viccy-commenting-on-PC's-relationship interjections, too!

But I don't think I've captured her voice very well and the rating is a bit... borderline I would believe. If it's too much, I'll fix it.

-
Viconia: I'm quite surpised with you, .

PC: Oh?

Viconia: It seems you've taken quite a fancy to your jaluk, or should I dare say mrannd'ssinss?

PC: I know what 'jaluk' means, but I have no idea what mraaanisee-

Viconia: (chuckles) Don't, you poison the language.

Viconia: I simply mean I've noticed you've taken a liking to 'dark meat', shall we say?

PC: (Sigh) Viconia, don't.

Viconia: Oh, do you think I have something negative to say about this abbil? How dissapointing, I'm merely want to give you suggestions.

PC: Should I be afarid to ask?

Viconia: It's just advice on how to deal with your mrannd'ssinss, {Charname}. I'm sure Solaufein is simply quite exquisite in the bed chambers, older drow become quite skillful in the exotic arts. They have to be to surrive. I'm sure as surfacer like you *must* be exhaused by him long before daybreak.

PC: Viconia.

Viconia: However you just cannot treat any jaluk with kit gloves. May I suggest using leather collar for him to follow you around? Perhaps a gag to quiet his screams-

PC: Viconia!-> A
PC: I thank you for the advice Viconia, but we've *both* managed to get the other quite sleepy before daybreak. And while I have made him scream and moan quite nicely, it is in pleasure rather than pain. It's a shame you can't hear Solaufein's voice, it's beautiful no matter what I do to him. (smiles) -> B

Viconia
A: (She chuckles softly again.) Ahh, that shade of red does suits you, {Charname}. It’s simply a shame you can’t take a simple teasing... {If male, go to C, if female -end-}
B: (Sigh) As I said, you treat your male with kit gloves. -> {If male, go to C, if female -end-}

Viconia
C: Should I give this advice to Solaufein, then? After all, you could be the jalil in this.

PC> Jalil?

Viconia> Female. (Smirks.)

PC> ... (Sighs) Thank you for expanding my vocabulary, Vic. {-end-}

PC> Do I dectect a hint of jealousy, Viconia?

Viconia: Keep thinking that, jaluk if it flatters you.

-end-
-

Thanks Dash for the suggestion as well as starchild.

(Sighs) I need a life. Jan's comments. :3

--

Jan: You know {CharName}, you remind me of my third cousin on my aunt Liddy's side of the family...

PC: Oh?

Jan: Oh yes, yes indeed. Poor cousin Camellia, it’s such a pity what happened to her. She fell in love with a giant you know. Though I don’t recall if it was a hill or a storm giant. Maybe a cloud giant. But the point is that the Giant was quite big. Anyways, she was off turnip picking one day just outside of Trademeet when low and behold she meet Biggie.

PC: Jan, please, don’t. I beg of you don-

Jan: You couldn’t separate them, not even with one of my Ma Janson’s upside down cake-

PC: Jan, it’s my personal life, I really don’t-

Jan: -we eventually got over Biggie and there was a wedding. One of the biggest Janson events since, well, I can’t remember. But they were married and it was such a lovely celebration, the twins were so adorable as the ring bearer and flower girl. But sadly... they were divorced the next day. Things wouldn’t... fit. Very tragic. But the divorce lawyer happened to be a nice halfling and now cousin Camellia is due any day now-

PC: Jan, what was the point of that?

Jan: Oh, yes, that. Just make sure at the very least your equipment is compatible with Solaufein’s in case you decide to get hitched.

PC
- “.....” ->A
- Tha- tha.. That’s none of your damn business!! -> B

Jan
B) (Chuckles and doesn’t say a word.)

A
{If PC is male}
PC: I’m not sure if I can get married, Jan.

Jan: ... Humph! Just ruin one of my perfectly good stories, then!
-end-

A
{If PC is female.}
PC: Jan, uhm... I thank you for the suggestion but we know the... equipment... is compatible.
Jan: Oh, that‘s very good then! So... how about naming your first-born after me then? (grins)

PC: (Sigh.) One day gnome, one day...

We surfacers have this thing against drow, we really aren't too keen about getting killed by them so we decided that all drows are bad to protect ourselves. But then again... she... all Bhaalspawn are outcasts... and you certainly are. It's natural she'd be attracted to you. ->H2

Solaufein

Haer’Dalis: Forest birds chirped in my ear an interesting tale...’twas my pleasure to make it into a song. You take interest in surface poetry, dark elf, so I would like to hear your judgement first of all.
Solaufein: I am quite flattered, Haer'Dalis.

Haer'Dalis:

When the dark covered the meadows
In the moonlight shadows came to dance
Not leaving footprints to a hunter’s glance
Ah, were those only shadows?

The birch-trees swayed like hair mellow
Silvery-white in the hands of wind
Silvery-white on the carpet of green
Ah, was that but a play of shadows?

Haer'Dalis: 'Tis unfinished, alas...I cannot picture yet details, but mayhap your imagination can fill in some blanks-
Solaufein: A lovely verse, Haer’Dalis, but I would not fancy to effect your inspiration with my thoughts. However, I shall sing you a song I heard in a village not a week ago... It is simple, but it came to my mind by some reason while listening to your elaborate tale.

Let the little birds sing
their songs to the wind
Lips sealed with a kiss
will not betray the bliss

Haer'Dalis: That's all?
Solaufein: I told you that it was but an artless peasent's song.
Haer'Dalis: <CHARNAME> had a liking of poetry as far as I can recall.
Solaufein: Indeed, <PRO_HESHE> does. I recall that <PRO_HESHE> much admired hearkening the village shepard from whom I learned the short verse...

Okay,  okay. I got way too inspired by all of these - especially after laughing out loud at Mistress Elysia's Minsc interaction on the other thread, and Sphira's hilarious ones with Imoen and Jan, so I finally gave in and got the urge to make one of my own.

This one might be a little complex, since it involves two NPCs with Solaufein and a specific part of their interaction. However, if you have both of them in your party by the time SoA and ToB rolls around, the 'squire/knight' interaction of Mazzy and Valygar's ought to be clear. Anyway, without further ado...

Solaufein: Valygar, this day seems to greet you somber... More so than usual, I find, even next to my own natural tendencies in that direction. What ails you? Is there any reason for such hard-faced depression?

Valygar: (growl) Not all of us can be... love-sick elves, Master Drow. I don't wish to discuss myself or my moods with you.

Mazzy: (brightly) Oh, nonsense. You really must not listen to my squire, goodman Solaufein. He is, in fact, the very soul of wit and joviality! I must tell you a joke he told me yestereve.

Valygar: *Mazzy*!

Solaufein: (amused) Please do, Fentan.

Mazzy: A duchess, a mindflayer and an Elder Orb go to a party, and -

Valygar: (hand over his face)

Mazzy: (after long, torturous minutes) - and so the Elder Orb speaks, 'Only the first time'!

Solaufein: (pauses before breaking into sudden gales of warm laughter, which is enough to turn everybody in the party's head at the unexpected sound) That is... unusual. I shall have to remember that one. Thank you, Mazzy. You give me hope. You two are... an example to me.

Valygar: ... of?

Solaufein: That two races may cherish each other with open arms and free hearts, with tenderness and... jokes about eye tyrants.

Valygar: Hmph. Yes, well. If you and <CHARNAME> could 'cherish each other with open arms' a little less loudly at night, that's all I want.

Solaufein: (amused) Indeed.

*laughs* I like it! I believe, though I'm not completely sure, that it could be coded to occur after Mazzy has appointed Valygar her squire.
Keep in mind, though, that not everyone will have both Mazzy and Valygar in their party, so it's not a good idea to have the dialogue be completely reliant on both characters. Writing another branch of dialogue just between Sola and Valygar is a good idea.
Anyway, nice work. Smiley

That was asbsolutely brilliant Danaei...

I agree with Athena as i've never, used Valygar and Mazzy in the party at the same time its either one or the other...

But for that dialogue alone i'm willing to use them both... Cheesy

And its got me thinking about a similar situation that occurs if Minsc takes Aerie as his witch now that could really be a funny dialogue...

*Wanders off to do some more thinking...*

Couldn't this be done say, with Minsc and Boo? Maybe Boo told the joke to Minsc and Minsc passes it on to Sola?

Yes i think it could be done with Minsc and Boo...

I think it could be done very early inthe romance and maybe Solaufein wouldn't actually get it at first or later on where again Sola could attempt a joke of his own to see if he understands the surfacer customs or interpretations of the word joke....

As in the Drow homeland, if i'm correct in saying this a Drows version of a joke, would actually be nasty...i.e someone being maimed or killed at the expense of another would be their perverse idea of a joke which could prevoke some nasty memories for Solaufein as his situation with Phaere for some high ranking houses in Ust Natha could be described as a joke for them at least...

But, i'm not sure if it would bring any conflict...you'd have to ask Athena or one of the others for advice on that one...

But if you have an idea just post away, i'm sure some humour for our brooding Drow might go down well.... Cheesy  Cheesy

You're right that the drow sense of humor usually involves causing pain to others, but not always. They enjoy using small, relatively harmless, cantrips on each other at parties, for example. Smiley Still, Sola wouldn't completely understand the surface sense of humor, or at least the many varieties of it, and that could be interesting to explore.

I don't see how any conflict could be caused....
